I have used the dehydrator for so many years. At 78 yo, I am looking forward to trying a freeze dryer. I feed one meal a day to 3 cancer patients for 2 weeks. Storing food helps me do this and I am learning by watching you. Thanks.

I too hope to upgrade to a freeze dryer. There are so many people that need a helping hand with meal preps and with food storage. I'm praying that God provides me with strength so I can expand the garden next year and use the abundance for a helping hand to others. Maybe I can convince a few of the grand children into helping.

You are so gracious in how you promote Jessica’s channel, it’s really good of you. She has a great channel too, like you guys do also. Just a word on making the roasted red pepper hummus dip - make it up (but without any oil) and THEN freeze dry the whole made up dip! I have done this with plain hummus, roasted pepper hummus, roasted beetroot one, roasted pumpkin one, sun dried tomato hummus too! They all rehydrate absolutely perfectly! When we feel like a hummus dip snack, we just take out the one we want, add some water, a dash of olive oil & it’s like it was made fresh that day!

We had planned to see the Ark in past and was deterred by flooding waters at the time. Hoping we can give it another try in fall. You guys are awesome and I enjoy learning from you. I love those silicone molds for the tomato sauce. You could also pre-make pasta sauce and freeze dry this as well. I use tomato sauce all the time, as well as pasta sauce and I think I would also have a glass jar with these in it just for quick cooking. There's no cans to open (I don't have a garden) and you just grab however many cubes you need and throw them in. The silicone molds for the tomato sauce was genius Sarah.

Congratulations on 25 years! Not many can make that milestone. I started a garden for the first time (basically a cake decorator, not a gardener) but I was able to get onions, potatoes, lettuce, and tomatoes. Because I don't know all the ins and outs, I was very happy I was able to get something. Next year will be better. Looking to get a freeze dryer in the future.

We have had a very mild winter in my part of Queensland Australia, I have been able to grow a cherry tomato on a north facing patio which is very unusual. I am getting ready for spring and summer garden at the moment as we are going to have a very long hot dry summer ahead.

Alittle tip.. Cover the roaster pan with a towel and put the lid back on slightly a jar. The towel will absorb the moisture and help reduce the juice faster.
