Maybe you should just surf for fun for awhile. No video, no coach, no goals, no pressure. Surfing is supposed to be fun.

Love Jade. Part of the surf culture and community is having fun, mental escape, enjoying the journey and feeling less stress. I know the madness will definitely get you the clicks. And It seems your tapping into the stressors of surfing way too often. Relax kiddo. Your doing this for living, let us see you enjoying the process for at least several videos. ❤

You’ll get more waves not surfing lowers and you are at a stage in your surfing where wave count is more important than anything else. You can get 5-6 waves a session at lowers or you could easily double or triple your wave count surfing less crowded spots. More waves =more progression, more progression=better surfing.

Tbh this video made me feel so much less alone, thank you! When you try and set the right intentions and do everything to prep for things to go the way you want and then they don't can be shattering. Seeing you have a human moment and keep going is the kind of inspiration we all need. Keep at it girlie, you have so many waves to surf physically and emotionally and you have already come so far. Thank you for sharing your journey! ❤️

Don’t stress. Waves are below average you are surfing. Every time you surf and get those reps in you are building time in the ocean. Maldives will have some epic lefts and you will surf way better with epic conditions. GL and stay positive.

Hey, I really wanted to know how to get into that breath training that you do. Those look epic. Anything I can search up? Parts of it looks like free-diving, but others look way more surfer/ocean-survival specific so I'm curious to learn more and to see whether I could get something like this somewhere in Europe, or whether maybe I could learn it and then teach it here. So any help in the right direction would be appreciated:). And keep crushing, it's so cool that you have people helping you film, analyze your sessions, etc. That's a positive I take from this video :). Rock on

I was a child surfing prodigy down in California in the mid 2000s. My family moved us up to Vancouver Island in Canada so I could still surf without the pressure of crowds/media. Now I surf in Tofino BC, you should come up north for a winter surf sesh.

That would be a cool collab! I’d love to see Jade do a series of surf travel vlogs like the Iceland one. We all know of the epic places like Pipeline and Teahupo’o, but I think there would be a ton of interest in documenting where beginner and intermediate surfers could do surf travel (a selfish request since I’m a 39 year old kook lol).

Experiment with trying to pump down the line and then doing a manoeuvre sometimes rather than straight into a turn
@rizz1640Ай бұрын
I think your boards are too big. Go down in volume and you will be able to do better turns(and probable make you a better paddler too!). Especially when its big. Nothing harder than trying to dig a rail going fast on a big wave with a board thats too big(too much volume). Just my thoughts. Im 145lbs and ride 24.5 liters in my performance shortboards. Also if you get a small grovel board for those smaller waist to stomach high days so u can fit ur board in the pocket easier. Like a 5’2”. And maybe jump on a performance fish like an album twinsman for those fun days where its ripable but not too powerful and steep.

Jade, I love your videos! I like watching them when I’m getting ready for my own surf sessions to hype me up (necessary when it’s super early and I’m still waking up!). I saw that awful reddit post and I know negative comments always stick in the brain more than positive comments, but know that you have so, so many more supporters and fans than haters! I hope the Maldives trip is so much fun and a positive mental reset. I’d love to go on a future Darma Nation surf trip, but I think I need to get a bit better first (it’ll be a fun goal to work towards). Looking forward to the next video. 💕

Hey Jade I wanna first say that I like watching your videos. In your first session the reason why you where falling is because the waves where too small. Don't give up I see a lot of potential in you. With your style, determination and willpower I can eventually in the future see you competing in the wpt and doing good. Another thing I suggest is if you want to paddle easier. I suggest getting a single fin it will be allot easier for you. I promise. You can do everything on a single fin except airs as with a thruster why you need a kick pad. If you want a shape that I can suggest for your style. Just comment me back....... Never give up you got a lot of potential.

I think part of the problem is that you're getting way ahead of yourself. you need to just work on learning to generate speed down the line. No need to worry about doing turns at this stage. I don't know why your surf coach doesn't tell you that.

I‘m really interested in watching you do all that training for surfing, but it feels like you’re stressing yourself out way too much. Maybe a break would be in order so that you can let go off all that frustration? Hope there‘s better days ahead of you… but going to the Maldives sounds like it could help with that 😊

hi! i love you’re videos :) also don’t forget when you’re an athlete who is actively working on new things to focus on and improve on we all either reach a plateau or “decline” in our skill (not that we actually decline but we are so hard on ourselves and seeking that improvement or level up that it seems like we’re getting worse). we also have coaches who’s jobs are usually to critique our every movement so we take that critiquing mindset with us all the time. we all reach a plateau, we all reach point where we feel like we’re getting worse than we ever were, and we all lose motivation to continue our sport or improve. the difference is that we keep going and know it’s going to suck for awhile but do it anyways. maybe do some challenges to make it fun or go with a group or reconnect with your body. don’t forget you’re not just an athlete or a machine, you’re a human who should give yourself grace. remember you’re body is actively rewiring itself trying to improve your mindset or improve your technique and it will take some time. our bodies and brains do so much so be patient with it. you’re doing great queen and i can’t wait to keep watching and supporting you :) 🩵

Honestly, I used to hate your videos. The only reason I used to watched them was because I hated them. But recently, you’ve won me over. I’m a fan. Your old character seemed to care more about the surf culture rather than the sport, but your recent self seems much more real. You’re progressing fast, and seem to have great respect for others, even going absurdly early to not disturb the pros before comp. Oh and you’re hilarious too. I hope you post more often.

Skipped through the whole thing. Your “surf vlogs” are like 20 seconds of bad surfing and a ton of bs. Take Phil’s advice and put the camera down and learn to surf first. Misrepresent.

What an unnecessary comment. If you don’t like her content then go somewhere else instead of saying you didn’t even watch and are just commenting to tear her down. She’s not claiming to be at the level of Caroline Marks or Carissa Moore and never has. She’s documenting her surfing progress and based on views and followers a lot of people enjoy and are interested in her content. If you actually watched the video you’d see that she’s working hard to get better, sometimes at the expense of her mental health, at a sport that I’m sure you know is very difficult. Please take this negative energy and redirect it into something you think would be beneficial and positive for surfing, like volunteering for beach clean ups with the Surf Rider Foundation or teaching groms and adult beginners how to surf. Peace.

so does your surf 'coach' not teach you etiquette? you just blatantly burn someone at 3:46... anything for content.
