We called them bridge-builders ,back in the day. Some say " interdisciplinary"..... Polymath is cool ; Goethe was one such and he described in some detail "where" he kept Faust , prior to committing the work to paper . (Consciousness).

Great work here. I can’t believe the conclusions I’ve read in scientific research namely neuroscience that seems to be defending itself from science instead of embracing what is obviously of worth and richness in producing a wealth of new knowledge for well being. Thanks Ian but also thanks to the channel.

Exciting conversation . I enjoy listening to folks smarter than me. This, to me for one small moment , makes the oft used phrase" let's unpack this " , seem redundant. Also some affirmations ,of sorts. Fine work everyone!

Dr. McGilchrist's description of the differences between the two hemispheres makes me think of the measurable psychological differences that on the group level exist between the masculine and the feminine, and whether these gender differences are related to the hemispheres in a way that can be verified by a scientific method. That is, do men's cognition on average lean more towards the left hemisphere and women's towards the right?

He argues this isn’t the case and if anything women are more left hemisphere if you have to make a generalisation.

I have always had interest in psychology. Was never interested in science of human mind until 2015 when I worked as customer service rep and some people attitude and behavior was appalling. I often scratched my head not knowing what to make of such kinds of people. I see how dogs are quite intelligent to their owners. 😁 Thank you, for this video. I'm getting M Gilchrist book. 🙏🏻
