It seems no matter my efforts, I will always somehow fall back into identifying. Even if it's just the fact that I am a woman and I "need" to be, look, act a certain way. It's only when I catch myself that I can come out of that in my mind. But I will inevitably sleep and go back to my old habits. Humans have an innate need to belong somewhere. It was how we survived for thousands of years. To break out of that mindset is a real undertaking.

It takes practice! I fall asleep a lot! Then I wake up and practice staying awake AGAIN…I made gratitude a daily on going practice…I also made celebrating myself for any thing! Even the smallest thing so I don’t WANT to run from the bully in my head that tells me I am a piece of crap…I WANT to stay awake because it feels GOOD ( God) to BE in my body again…I create a place of welcome instead of the hell my ego created…love and light on your journey…YOU ROCK!

@@lisaculver1829 Yes! Celebrate the small things! Like finishing the dishes. What if I told myself how fanfreakingtastic I am that I clean up the kitchen and make it sparkle daily. It's pleasurable for all who co exists with me. Something to ponder. Thanks for the reminder Lisa !

It is THE undertaking. It is among the chief things for us to work on. There are infinite opportunities for us to observe our conditioning and our identification, and to work against these influences to awaken. It’s the work we must do, and as Lisa says, it is easier with understanding and compassion, rather than brute force. I will touch on these things in the next video. 🙏

Thanks. When you identify with something or somebody, then you stop seeing the negative aspects of the thing or person you are identified with despite the evidence showing the real picture. Not be identified with something or somebody is a great challenge. To be impartial is a big challenge.

Everything in this work is challenging and takes effort on our parts. No evolution can come about mechanically, but needs conscious efforts. Glad you are enjoying the commentary videos 😀👍

Spot on with getting to the depths of it: Identifying with "I". something not easily grasped! In Casteneda's books, Don Juan spoke of this process as "forgetting the human form". J Krishnamurti has also done some rigorous work on where this identification comes from and how it comes about in the mind as a process of memory and thought.

It’s a central part of many different lineages. And there are great benefits from overcoming our identification with “I” as all these great teachers point out in their different ways. 🙏

Jesus warned against identifying with anything…who am I if I am not a mother, daughter, citizen, spouse, girl, teacher, etc. ALL that is left is I AM…”I AM THAT I AM” present tense singular in Webster dictionary….what could/does this mean? The YOU are 1st cause…LOVE…choosing from the sacred absolute instead of conditioned fear, threat, and control…can u imagine the power of that conviction and faith…stepping into Christ Consciousness….

It’s funny you picked the mods as an example. When I was a teenager. My friend became a mod. And all the older boys where bikers. So they called him The Only Mod In The Village😂 this was before Little Britain did the only gay in the village. But I always wondered if mat lucus was one of the older bikers and it was where he got the idea of the scene from.

Ha ha. Interesting thought. As I mentioned, I got a strong impression from a group of them down by the coast. Got me thinking. The only mod in the village, that’s a good one 🤣😂
