I was pretty much raised by au pairs and my parents treated them so wonderfully that 4 out of 5 stayed much longer than a year (2-5). My parents more or less saved the one who didn’t stay from a horribly abusive family - she had to sleep in the laundry room and was on duty 24/7. They also withheld her pay and every member of the family, including the children, treated her horribly and constantly insulted her and beat her down. She came to live with us for a few months while we awaited our new au pair before going back home.

Did you ever feel like this person gets me more than my parents?
@jaysea8027 ай бұрын
@@sewgeekdesigns9113 absolutely. I spent a majority of my time (outside of school and dance) with my au pairs, my parents weren’t home much. My last au pair, Seda, was with us for over 3 years (then my parents sponsored her for another 2yrs) and saw me through some of the roughest times. She was wonderful. I could tell her things and talk about things I never could with my parents.

Oh girl... speaking of folie a deux, which is so fascinating to me. You definitely need to look up the case of the Eriksson twins, Ursula & Sabina. That case is absolutely wild! Just when you think it's over, another twist happens! I'd LOVE for you to cover it! But def check it out! I haven't stop thinking about it since I heard about that case.
@Tesko913 ай бұрын
Omg same! It caught my attention because the twins are swedish, and I believe they were identical twins (I'm swedish and my mother and aunt are identical twins, so just that coincidence alone creeped me out a bit lol). But yeah, one of the most bizarre cases I've heard about. What's scarier than a psychosis - shared psychosis. I really hope she sees your comment.

I was placed in a supposed group home for pregnant teens when I was 16. In this home, they worked me like a horse, starved, and beat me. My twin sons died due to the abuse. I couldn't run away because I was in the middle of nowhere. When I went to school and said what was going on where I lived, I was dismissed as a rebellious teen. It wasn't until 8 months after my boys dying I was liberated. A group of girls went to the counselor concerned because I was so emaciated and was holding my underwear up with a rubber band. When I left that home, my cycle had stopped. I was in a size 10 little girl's the same size I wore in 4th grade when I left. I was in the 11th grade. If I hadn't been as resourceful and ate wild onions and grasshopper, I think I would have died.

This case is so so sad. I’m in the uk & we had an au pair from Spain. She was fine at first but I ended up having to go away & be with my dad in the hospital who sadly passed away. While I was with him she kept messaging me things like where to find bed sheets etc. When I told her to please ask my husband who was there as I am dealing with my dad in critical care, she sent laughing emojis back to me, with an “okay, yeah sure whatever” attitude. It was so bizarre. I sent her home. She was completely entitled & disrespectful! I know others have had good experiences but there are a lot of bad stories out there..this case is obviously one of them. Just horrendous what they did to poor Sophie 😢

@@no_peaceit was really distressing. She would msg me at like 3am my time (I was in a diff country) and I said please don’t do this, my dad is in critical care and she sent back “😹 okay, sure. Whatever you say” I was beyond upset this person also would yell at my 2 yr old for eating bubbles in the bath..just not good all round 😢
