An Iranian friend of mine told me that there were about 100,000 Jews living in Iran in the 1930-40s, next door to his town. They have never left but the community has grown smaller as Elders have passed away, and some younger Jews have moved away.
@lordfedjoe10 ай бұрын
And those Jews are Persian Jews. But now they have all moved to Palestine to claim the land. Jew is a religion, just like anyone can be Jews. Just like anyone can be Christians. There are Jewsish Arab same as Jewish Europe and Africa.

Yet, Israel's the only place that claiming you're a Jew gets you free land to settle some of which already have homes on them including homes that belong to Palestinians but no worries! The IDF has settlers backs, provides them with arms and in fact many settlers are in the IDF.

Thank you so much Preston, you continue to find and give platform to voices we rarely hear. Bless you! This was so helpful and hopeful to me. I just listend to "On Palestine" by Israeli historian Ilan Pappe along with famous Jewish American intellectual and MIT professor, Noam Chomsky. Wow, so enlightening. We must shift from the "fool's gold mirage of a '2 State solution" and in earnest recognize that the only path forward is a "single state from the river to the sea" that provides equal dignity and rights for all of its citizens, regardless of religion, ethnicity or language. Yes it is messy, but reconiliation and sharing with our fellow humans has never been easy. But it is worth it. My Rabbi said "it is better to give than to receive"

“All of it’s citizens?” Yes, a very tall order indeed. I am genuinely curious if there is the expectation that Jews are included and welcomed in a future “state” in the eyes of the Palestinians.

@@westyso.cal.8842 yes a tall order indeed. it's what should have happened from the beginning. politics and world war 1 really created unique factors. anyways, from the most thoughtful voices I've heard from stakeholders, yes, both jews, muslims, christians and even atheists (who live in the land) should be welcome as citizens. asking for a 1 state solution, from those that I understand at least, is not a request to "rid the land of the jews" but rather for all image bearers of God to be given equal rights and dignity in a state that does not bias or treat better persons of an ethnic or religious identity.

Okay here we go. I really like this balanced approach and perspective, it helps people understand that there are two reasonable perspectives on the different sides. But I don't think there is any legitimacy to taking land from people because of your beliefs and identity tying your ancestors there. This all happening mostly in the 20th century is baffling to me. Borders existed. Centuries of family history in the land. And if it had all ended with Jewish people legitimately buying land in Palestine because they felt tied to the land and were going home, fine, but that's not how it happened. It became occupation, colonization, displacement, abuse, murder. So while I think there is a lot of balance in this conversation and it is helpful to learn about these perspectives, it is also extremely important to see that a person's belief that they belong somewhere their ancestors lived 2,000 years ago doesn't give them the right to go occupy and take someone else's land. My grandmother was Cajun, aka Acadian. Her family had been forced out of Acadia in the great expulsion. Acadia no longer exists, it was previously in what is now Canada/USA. I my grandma and our family had absolutely zero right to go back to that area and claim ownership. And that expulsion happened from 1755-1764, so 250 years ago instead of 2,000. Just as an example.

@jo724611 ай бұрын
What two truths? The guest said the area was conquered thousands of years ago. How can you conquer an area if it is already yours? And what gives one conquering group more right than another conquering group. He does not answer the question who were the original inhabitants of the land before monotheist religion (before Judaism existed). That area has had many groups live there at the same time and not simply two groups. By the guest's standard of truth, the multiple groups that lived there 2,000-3,000 years ago should have equal claims to the land if this is the measure of truth. Yet this is not the case. Imagine how the demographics would change around the world if the standard is to reclaim land once occupied 2000-3000 years ago. Why should this measure be made for one geography and not for all the geography of the entire world. By this standard, the United States would not exist.

I'm very late to this "party", though a party it is not! I've recently been listening to every interview you've done on the situation in Israel/Palestine and this is the first moment that actually brought the tears that had been hanging around inside my eye lids for so long. This -- “I don’t know anything about them, I’ve never met them, I’m afraid,… they really don’t really have a human face… I am undone by the fact that I can talk to them, that they have a story, that they are human beings.” That is the whole thing in a nutshell, I suppose. Every struggle across the globe that is based on an Us vs Them mentality is due to this reality of a complete lack of contact and connection with "the other". Thank you, Preston Sprinkle. A quick glance at your podcast topics would make one think you might love "stirring the pot" but I believe you are reaching at least one actual goal -- breaking down the "us vs them" divisions through proximity and conversation in order for us all to become true Kingdom people, people who look and sound and ARE increasingly more like Jesus.

Why don't you talk about the illegal settlements built on Palestinian Lands in West Bank? Why don't you talk about how they humiliate Palestinians on Israeli checkpoints? Why don't you talk about the United Nation resolutions that Israel don't comply with such as 1947 resolution 181 (II), partitioning Palestine into two States - one Arab and one Jewish - the independence of the Palestinian Arab State continued to be unjustly obstructed and the rights of Palestinians “flagrantly denied”. resolution 194 on Nov. 1948 The right of return of Palestinian refugees to Palestine? Resolution 242 in 1967 the illegal occupation of Israel to Palestinian Lands in West Bank? Resolution 904 in 1994 Protecting the Palestinians in the occupied territories from the Israelis after the Ibrahimic Mosque massacre? Why you are not talking about Dec 30 2022 United Nation Resolution against Israel at ICJ. 87 Country votes in favor including China and Russia against the illegal settlement and illegal occupation of Palestinian Lands and the Holy City of Jerusalem. Why don’t you talk about The UN Security Council, for its part, responded to the Israeli decision to annex East Jerusalem, by issuing Resolution No. 478 on August 29, 1980, which included non-recognition of Israeli law regarding Jerusalem, and called on countries to withdraw their diplomatic missions from the city. Also Resolution No. 15/36 on October 28, 1981, declaring that any changes in the Jerusalem area are illegal and against international law, and that such actions are an obstacle to achieving just and comprehensive peace. UN Resolution 2334 issued on December 23, 2016, confirms that Israel’s establishment of settlements in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 - including East Jerusalem - has no legal legitimacy, and demands that Israel immediately stop all settlement activities and not recognize any changes to the June 4 borders. /June 1967. UN Resolution in 1974 says in point #5 The Palestinian people have the right to regain their rights by all means in accordance with the United Nations Charter. It affirms the right of the Palestinian people to independence and sovereignty and the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the right to return to Palestine. After signing the Oslo Accords on September 13, 1993, the Palestinians promised by Israel , USA, EU, Russian and UN that the eastern part of Jerusalem would be their future capital, and the Palestinian leadership confirmed its firm position many times by saying, “There is no Palestinian state without East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the peace initiative.” Arabic". Even the official American position supported the international position on occupied Jerusalem, which appeared in an American message of reassurances to the Palestinians in October 1991, in which it stated, “We do not recognize Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem or its expansion of its municipal borders.” Russia confirms that it recognizes West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, which was reconfirmed by a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry in December 2017. However, the US Congress reversed the international position on October 23, 1995, when it issued a law stipulating the transfer of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and the necessity of recognizing “Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel.” I wonder Why are you playing the victim role? Israel always victimize it self ? I'm Palestinian and Israeli are killing us since 1947 and we never heard you talking about it and condemn Israel for killing innocent Palestinians. Why you speak about the reaction of the innocent Palestinians tortured daily by Zionist Israeli but never speak about the action of Israeli illegal occupation of Palestine that bring such reaction? Please come to Palestine and see for yourself how they treat Palestinians and tortured them. Please we invite you all to come and see the truth by yourself. why can't UN stop Israeli Zionist killing innocent Palestinian Civilian mostly Children and women for 75 years? Why UN can't punish Israeli Zionist for violating more than 70 UN Resolution but destroyed Iraq for violating couple of UN Resolution? UN should ask the west why you consider Ukrainian defending their lands against Russian as freedom fighter but you consider Palestinian defending their Land against Israeli as Terrorist? Do the Palestinian have the right to defend themselves because you always say Israel has the right to defend itself? Do the Palestinian have the right to defend themselves when Land was taken from them Homes were destroyed when daily innocent civilian Palestinian children’s and women were killed Palestinian homes were confiscated and demolished by Israeli and when UN Resolutions on Torture on ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian in Israel failed and so many other UN Resolution against Israel failed. did the Palestinian have the right to defend themselves when Israel Turn on and off Electricity stop the water stop food stop fuel stop medical Aid put Gaza on the biggest open-Air Prison for 16 years long long before October 7 attack by Hamas? You can’t say open Air Prison because you go to prison if you did something wrong. It is the biggest open concentration camp in the world. if you claim Israel has a "right to self-defense" then shouldn't you also acknowledge Palestine's right to armed struggle against the occupying power? Armed resistance against the occupying power is a fact that is acknowledged by international humanitarian law conventions. You are so ignorant about the facts on the ground. Hamas was born in 1987 and Zionist Israel been killing innocent Palestinian Civilian since 1947. Palestinian since 1947 were crying to the world shouting to people like you to UN, EU, USA, Russia, China, .... etc. to help them and to stop the massacre of Palestinian by Israel Zionist. Where were you from 1947 until 1987 when Israel Zionist killed innocent Palestinian and still killing them until today? No one helped the Palestinian or listened to them. Nobody cares about them for 75 years. Palestinian decided to stand up and defend themselves and on 1987 after they lost hope from the entire world to save them Hamas was born as REACTION to the ACTION of the Israeli Zionist against innocent Palestinian. Hamas is REACTION for the illegal ACTION of the Zionist Israel. What Hamas did in OCT 7 is happening to the Palestinians daily since 1947 for 75 years. Where were you and why you didn't condemn the killing of those innocent Palestinian for 75 years? What Hamas did is REACTION of the illegal ACTION of Zionist Israel. The ACTION is the illegal Occupation of Palestine by Israeli Zionist and the violation of more than 70 UN Resolution by Israel Zionist. End up the illegal ACTION of Zionist Israel they will be no REACTION. The Problem with the western Media you do condemn the REACTION of the Palestinian and forget about the illegal ACTION of Zionist Israel.

There's a lack of legal and political consideration of Palestinian's economic insecurity that would come from throwing them off land without realistic prospects for establishing a new grounded, free and balanced life. It sounds as though the cost of giving a Jewish people their homeland's freedom has been to strip away the freedoms of others. Jews could still settle, and live their, while not taking away Palestinian's freedoms, but it would take a far more left-wing Israeli government than what current exists, which seems unlikely because of a brainwashing of a far right-wing supremacity movement that has racial feelings of superiority to arabs and has no interest in securing or protecting Palestinian freedoms which is unlikely to make them less peaceful, while blaming their hatred of Jewish people on an irrational desire to annihilate Judea rather than a feeling of emnity from deprivation of their freewill by them.

@leonardoarmandoiarrusso1225 Жыл бұрын
"He forgot to mention Palestinans were nomatic" - what is the difference if they were in the very same territory in the last centuries? "and that when the Jews who had lived and developed the lands and built the temples for thousands of years" - we have few references/sources about "jews" (not only) and in a lot of cases the torah is improperly used as a source. You are referring to the development of the land, etc. but it SHOULD make no difference for the last century since the international laws profoundly changed the int. situation after WW2, otherwise we should go back in the ages to determine who is the legit owner of a land or another. Btw we have scarce and not very reliable informations about almost any population in that period. Nobody could use such arguments to justify anything, nonetheless any subject would be justified to cliam the land. "were mostly thrown out by the Romans" - as happened several natives thrown out of what they've decided to be "their land", including the native americans, as the canaanites wiped out by the israelites (as reported in the torah, if we want to follow a non historically reliable source), etc. So, what's your point? "they renamed the land of Israel/Judea Palestine after the Phillistines who were a great enemy of the jews..." - but the "philistines", that are NOT the current palestinians as the israelis of the past are NOT the current ones, were not the only "enemies" for those populations. Except your probable idea to find a made up reason... What's the relation with what is discussed in the video?
