Hello from 🇺🇦. I'm looking forward to your video about batteries on Lifepo4 48V about 100Ah. Now I'm very need for this project in my country with power outages. Thanks for you work.

Nice project - any chance I can get my hands on the CAD files for the BMS board ? I'd like to swap out the XT connectors for some Anderson Power Poles - works better with the HAM gear I use. This is for the SLM12 LIFEPO4 12V 50A 4S BATTERY.

In my RC days nimh sucked horribly but had no worries charging them up. My first lipo puffed up cause i didn't know how to treat it. then i figured out lipo and they were amazing but still fragile. Then i was gifted OLD used LiFe batteries and they were absolute tanks with lots of abuse and recharges and sitting on the shelf and used again. i bet they lasted up to 15 years. They were MaxAmps LiFe 6500mah 2s, currently $166

A couple stacks of these bricks seem like the perfect things to build a inverter out of so I can time shift a few kilowatt hours in my house to the lower rate plan hours

Interesting, however I just visited the website and looked around. The one thing I would suggest if you wanted to sell more, is to have a complete combo option available, without having to go to several vendor's to build out a battery. For example have a 12v lifepo4 battery that is complete, with all the options. For a standard configuration. Yes the price would increase. However having to buy a battery, then buy all the miscellaneous parts, then wait till all those parts arrive, then be able to build up the battery, isn't saving any money, it just furthers putting off building. Yes for the diyers this isn't a issue, their bench is full of unfinished batteries waiting for parts. For the rest of us who want to get into diy batteries, I'd say we want one complete package to arrive with all the correct parts to quickly build the battery. And not have to wait for parts that may or may not work properly. Saving a 100 bucks is good, only if one can quickly build it, otherwise it would be less hassle, and buy a professional built battery that offers a warranty and is plug and play. Merry Christmas MMXXII

@@jasonbroom7147 I understand that, I was simply wondering why not offer a complete beginner package? In order to grow one's business, especially one that is diy centric, why not offer a complete kit option. This would serve to educate those who might not be electrical engineers, however want to learn more about building the batteries. Once those beginner's understand all of the different parameters of building a battery, and they've had success in building a battery, would that not give them the confidence to try more advanced building projects? If we can teach other's to build then would that not build a better relationship with this business? And by teaching those, help build a better world? I've been building for decades, both on commercial and residential, and today's work force is lacking quite a bit. It's the lack of knowledge and experience, plus a lack of confidence to build thing's. If the USA is to move forward in building then shouldn't we strive to educate beginner's? Or shall we keep the knowledge to ourselves and F the rest? Look at Elon, he's only begun to make information sharing on Twitter more free, yet the same tards that just a few months ago loved him now are calling him a Nazi. It's because big tech has censored using tax payer funds combined with government to hide certain truths. The same ideology is pervasive in the diy crowd, instead of growing and expanding their size as a diy group they strive to keep it gate kept, and closed from outside beginner's. Making it more difficult than it needs to be. So companies that offer complete solutions will gain market share, and possibly lobby to outlaw the diy crowd. Citing that only qualified people are allowed to build such thing's. Think I'm crazy just look at California and their insane laws that hinder freedoms.

@@andrewj99 No that's not what I was asking, I was merely suggesting to offer a complete package. Unfortunately J, doesn't want to offer such a package. That's fine. Apparently he is of the opinion that there's enough experts to buy his 2nd and 3rd tier Chinese junk(allegedly), and doesn't want or need to cater to beginners into building batteries or similar systems(allegedly). It's his business and he can sell to those who want to buy such products. I'm not a electrical engineer nor a electrician, however I do work in the construction trades, live off grid, and was interested in J's products. He replied and I won't buy anything from him ever again. Nor will I promote him or his videos, or his business. Besides he'll have fun walking to work soon enough, gruesome Newsome is set to announce that California is going full on agenda 2030, which has many benefits for those who like to own nothing and be happy. I have a total of four of the 100Ah batteries, and the first two that I had (well, really one 100Ah and two 50Ah batteries wired together through one BMS), based on my testing, tested at every bit of 200Ah for the pack, and had NO issues supplying the load - I tested with a heat gun and a 1000W Renogy inverter, and when I was pushing the inverter to it's 1000W limit, the BMS PCB started getting a little toasty and the BMS itself got a little more toasty, probably nothing in the danger zone, but the cells themselves never broke a sweat. Based on the energy taken out and the energy put back in, if the ones I have aren't still at 100% rated capacity, they're darn close.

I want to extend the time for my 1500 W UPS. It has 2 12-volt batteries in series. Standby use: 13.5-13.8 volts, and Cycle usage 14.4- 15 volts. Would the 24-volt battery work paralleled with to existing 24-volt system? Would it be better to not use the sealed lead batteries at all?

You mentioned diagrams for use cases. I don't even know who reads these comments, but I would think it would be hard for the content creator to read every single comment. But here goes: I'd like to leverage the Delta Pro I already own by tossing it in a shuttle bus, that I picked up last month, to power a 120v mini-split, among other items. It's been hard to find information about the relationship between a vehicle alternator, the vehicle batteries, and a DC to AC inverter. I know i can replace the current alternator with a bigger one, in the vehicle. Ecoflow's Delta Pro is limited to 1800w incoming power from AC. So a 2000 watt DC to AC pure-sine wave inverter seems reasonable. Much like the radio won't play if the vehicle is turned off, it's desirable not to have battery power flowing to that inverter if the engine's not running. The Delta Pro, solar power, or shore power will be powering the mini-split air conditioner and other devices while the engine is not running. Does the power from the alternator float over the vehicle batteries to feed the dc-ac inverter while the battery power from the vehicle is only used when the alternator is not putting out enough amps? Much like batteries in a home system will make up the power draw if solar panels aren't outputting enough. I've seen the amperage for batteries should be four times that of the alternator. But that seems like overkill if the engine idle speed allows the alternator to put out enough power. 1800w / 12v = 150a alternator. Having a dedicated battery such as the one offered in this video for this system makes sense to me. I just want to understand more on how those components interact with each other. And seeing as the video does mention vehicles powered by batteries that brings up another question about what would it take to get these batteries up to the voltage required for an EV motor? I'm guessing it's still not super feasible to build your own battery packs for EVs because this channel doesn't mention it so much. If this isn't the best place to ask about these things then is there a better place someone can recommend? Thanks in advance.

@ericklein5097 Жыл бұрын
These are gonna be a real tight fit if you’re trying to replace 6 20Ah lead acid. I don’t think the footprint is gonna fit these LiFeP04 batteries simply because of how tall they are. Width and depth on these are relatively small but the height created by adding the BMS and PCB on top will probably be your problem unless you can find a really unique way of using the thickest silicone wire you can find that allows you to mount the PCB’s separately. Would likely involve fabricating a custom top cover/deck to your battery compartment if you have a model with all the storage below the deck. What model scooter do you have?

For experimenting, how easy is it to swap between 12 and 24 V. Wold it be better to get 2x1v 50 Ah? Then one 12V 100Ah or 24V 50Ah. Ie easier to reconfigure between series an parallel on the pack level vs reconfigure cells within the pack?
