I wish I had thought about my future a little bit more and went to a 4 year college for me to become a pilot. I'm a truck driver now and what I would like to do is fly fed ex freight planes and deliver freight a little different way. Lol

i hear you. thanks a lot for the reply. i was talking in the sense that i wouldn't be able to have time to go back to school to change the profession now. i wish i had thought about the future in way of what i would to have truly liked to have done for the rest of my life. I might look into it but if i have to be in a class room everyday, my job wouldn't allow me to do it. truck drivers are allowed to work 70hrs a week. Most companies push you to do those 70hrs. I work exactly 68-70 hrs a week so leaves very little time to think about changing careers let a lone being able to do something to change the career.

2:18 Emirates calling the tower for clearance, not for Dubai, but to Malta. One of the few Emirates routes that serves two airports, Larnaca then Malta. using a A330. Nice film, sad to see the end of Cyprus Airways.

Why would ATC talk in Greek when there are other aircraft around who don't know what is going on? Thats a safety risk and it has led to accidents in the past.

Great to see Cypriot hospitaliity extends to the flight cockpit, even to the point of explaining the flight in detail,only once have I ever been allowed on the flight deck, Again on Cyprus Airways around 1976 on what I believe was the first direct flight from Larnaca to London after the invasion of 1974, In what I believe was a B707. efxaristo ya ena exeretiko video re koumpare !!!!!

Because in Europe you can turn them off (if it's day) the minute you leave the ground if it's night then you keep them on till 5,000 feet (it's what I was told by my instructor.)

Mid05 Gameplays It's a small airline of a small country. Only 6 airbus 320s. They cannot grow much since few people live in Cyprus, but yes I really do hope they survive. One of the unique airlines to use the legendary trident.

They are communicating together about various issues like weather and descent procedures, ATC clearances, checklists and so forth. It is very important.

There is a saying that goes- Flying is hours and hours of sheer boredom and moments of sheer terror. So yes it is sometimes boring but it's still beautiful, and I can't imagine how much fun you would have in an office looking at a computer screen for 8 hours...

***** You can't really compare doctoring to being a pilot, I think a better comparison would be Probably the same way Driving isn't all that exciting if you're doing it everyday while you still have to stay alert and be careful for unexpected objects. Most of the time the planes are on auto pilot anyways and air traffic control makes it so that all planes are routed safely without intersecting courses not to mention Landing and Take Offs are automated and/or assisted by computer systems as well. other than that unexpected objects like weather balloons aren't much danger, so what you said about saving people's lives was a bit misleading. of course with the exceptions of emergency or crash landings.

Hi, Is this experience really in the cockpit? iff so how many passengers? Or is i just the seats TV view?. If its real cockpit flight is there a charge? How much so is it? (one of the pilots's charly is really an indian ChaarRRRly).. I have had the privileged of flying in the cockpit twice for about 15-20 mins (after 9/11 of course) but never during the take of or landing. (except on a simulation flight where I flew the aircraft form Laos to Hongkong).

Judging from the lack of grunge on the controls - is that a fairly new aircraft? ( or is it just well kept? ) It just doesn't have that typical "lived in" look that comes with old 320s

Regarding the engine out on taxi, with the high cost of Jet-A, lately the airlines have made it "somewhat" mandatory, i.e. Encouraged their pilots to shut one engine down during taxi. I am not 100% on this but it's what I've heard around some of the aviation forums.

I wouldn't want to be on board in case of an emergency where these pilots would have to communicate with air control in English! I am really having a hard time understanding what they're saying when addressing the passengers in English via the PA system and some of what the air traffic lady is saying! A disaster can be made worse for lack of proper enunciation!!! I guess there is a reason why everything is computerized and keep your fingers crossed for the best.
