Condor flight DE597 arrives at Munich (EDDM), while remaining incredibly calm as ATC give them a runway change, then two new approaches while in descent under FL100. A superb display of competence, delegation of work and overall professionalism. Pilot Flying (patiently) is F.O. Patricia Gross with Captain and Chief Pilot Thomas Lindner monitoring (PM) and taking the sudden change of plans like a pro.

Awsome video as usual: Question - how is it talking german in the cockpit, and the every time to controllers in English ?
@jamesrivis620

Those are the worldwide flight rules, that pilots can relate in their own languages in the cockpit when it does not involve the controller or cockpit routines. It often amazes me that everyone involved comprehends the various accents.

The best part was the CRM. And they knew exactly what their individual role was. And they were super prompt in taking steps/actions. Also they were super polite and obedient to each other. One of the best rapports of pilots i have seen ever. The PM was so cordial in configuring new waypoints, frequencies and ILS maintaining his super calmness even though they were almost tossed 3 times with new runways and at last an NDB approach, and he also maintained close coordination with the ATC and kept a close look on callouts and what his PF was doing. And great situational awareness of both the crew. A perfect 10 on 10 on all parameters

yes the left hand pilot is the company's head pilot for this type of plane. This is likely an evaluation session where he is to disembark and report to flight operations his opinion if she should continue functioning with the company as a FO or trainee captain or should other action be taken to protect society.

yes its a first officer being observed by the company's head pilot for the type of plane they are flying. usually this is a test of her abilities to describe the procedures and talk back to the chief pilot in a calm and professional manner describing her plans and how she executes company and Airbus policies. Typically the chief pilot would evaluate her technical and flying skills to decide to recommend if she is competent to continue flying or needs to take other action either to protect the flying public or to train her for potential promotion to captain status.

What does "LIKE a pro" mean? That they are not? This may have been discussed before, and I could be wrong here, but at the end (12:10) when she calls out “brakes hot” I think she’s not turning on the brake fans (because this 320 has none) but rather cancelling the resp. ECAM warning....

Just love German Aircrew!! I feel like that many of these crashes by pilot error could have been saved by a German Pilot, "Dummkopf" hold my beer!!

Their Sennheiser headphones/headsets of the pilots look like the iconic headphones for DJing (Sennheiser HD-25).

Sad to see that the aviation branch hasn't heard of the metric system yet. Thanks, USA.
