In this video, I'm going to show you what a week in the life of a type rating student looks like.
I am currently doing my type rating on the Airbus A320 which is my last step before flying passengers. In this video, I will be showing you what a type rating student's typical week looks like. For my type rating, I did the majority of my simulators in Stockholm, Sweden, which is where I'll be based for this video. The week was full of simulators and studying as you'll see in the video.
I hope you all enjoy and remember to leave a like, comment and SUBSCRIBE

Hi Olli - Congratulations on becoming an airline pilot at age 21 and by the way, I love your English accent, where doing these videos will help you massively with your communication skills, which even for those of us non-pilots and non-airline people, have become so important in recent years - ironically, being proudly Irish and living 21 years here in Manchester, I know that my national airline Aer Lingus (Shamrock) has the A321 between Manchester to Dublin and I’ve flown home quite a bit as a passenger on them over the years - even as a passenger, the views of the Irish coastline are stunning on the approach to runway 28 - where my family live in Rural Ireland, we are located quite close to the final approach to Runway 10 at Dublin so when Runway 10 at Dublin is active, we get to see the A350 coming in from LAX to Dublin as well - are you currently serving as First Officer with an airline at the moment? Best Wishes to you 🇮🇪☘️🇬🇧❤️

@@PilotOliBefore I moved to the U.K. I’d taken a flight in a Tobago from Weston near Dublin to Knock airport in the (beautiful) West of Ireland but we could not land, as the weather turned to IMC, it was a VFR flight and the pilot was not IFR rated but I got to do the landing back at Weston, which remained sunny and light winds high clouds the whole time - flying into and out of Weston is a challenge, as it’s located quite close to Casement (Baldonnel) Millitary Aerodrome (where the Queen flew into when she visited Ireland) - west of the River Shannon, the weather in the West of Ireland can change rapidly, but Ireland remains an excellent place to learn to fly, as Irish airspace has far fewer aircraft movements

I’m still as plane mad as ever and an aviation enthusiast at age 52 even though I never got to become a pilot myself, but Microsoft Flight Simulator and VATSIM shows us the possibilities that are open to us, as Citation Max talks about on his KZbin Channel - I looked on both the RAF and the USAF recruitment websites and they are encouraging people to play games, where they are recruiting pilots from the flight sim community, driven partly by the fact that so many modern aircraft systems are in effect computer controlled as the technology continues to improve (even though I have some concerns about this) - during Covid and with everyone working from home, I realised that even tower controllers could work from home as pilots can get clearances on thier mobile phones and send them to thier aircraft, with thier charts on thier iPads - with the developments in ground radar, CCTV, broadband, high spec PC’s with audio, video, voice and other data being sent via high-speed broadband connections, even ATC radio comms at airports can now be done remotely (from home) and these are massive developments in the past 10 years alone, let alone in the past 20 years
