A380-900 NEOPlus is what EK wants. They won't get it as the supply chain has been disbanded and the cost to recommence the production line would make a very limited production run too costly for even Emirates. @CaptVirtual That's interesting. So like the DC-8-70's which involved switching the JT3 for CFM65 and recertification. I think they were also zero houred. It wasn't cheap as only 110 (20%) were done. The USAF also re-engined some of their 717 based C-135's using the same CFM65. Still the program would require both Airbus and more importantly RR to do the design, integration and development then have the planes recertified. All doable but would cost $ which neither party are probably willing to spend while they have profitable alternatives.

Even though I haven’t flown on an 380…I think it’s a marvelous piece of engineering…it is. However, it is a truly niche aircraft and I believe came at a time of where no one knew where the aviation industry was going. It’s almost like the 757…where the timing building it was off but now that it’s gone…now others want it or want to keep it flying for the longest time possible. I just wonder why Emirates only went with the 380 instead of a combo 747-8/380.

Probably not viable, though I'm not sure that's a shame. For me the 380 has been the best plane I've ever travelled in. I've not tried the 350 which may be similar, but cheaper to operate and a bit smaller. I have been on many Boeings - as well as a few other maker's planes. The Dreamliner is perhaps the next most comfortable from my experience, though it's a lot smaller. Years ago I used to like the 747s a lot, but they can be noisy and use a lot of fuel I believe compared with modern planes. One 777 I flew on - I've been on several of those and 767s and 757s - was truly dreadul regarding noise, and unfortunately it was a very long flight. Mostly in recent years I have flown on much smaller aircraft, many of them by Airbus. So probably not going to happen for a new 4 engined aircraft, but I hope the existing fleets of 380s will continue for some time. Airbus have said that they will continue to support them.

Emirates had 123, nearly half of the total delivered. Singapore Airlines had 24. Lufthansa had 14, British Airways and Qantas each had 12. A few other customers had 10 each, and everyone else had fewer delivered. Some passengers really love them. Some complain that embarking or disembarking a near-full A380 overloads almost any concourse and is a pain. Even most large airports cannot handle regular A380 flights, just emergency landings. Airbus has disassembled their production line. No engine maker seems interested in creating or modifying an engine that could serve as a super-efficient replacement engine for A380s: the A380 is not the B-52, and Emirates is not the U. S. Department of Defense. It seems pretty obvious that there will be no A380neo.

Could the winglets not be added to the existing 380s and why doing this while buying used 380s by emirates not extend this use out further as the Boeing Jumbo series. Other options are to add just 2 new engines for low burn cruising allowing either the outer engines to cut the performance they need to have on hand or just use the outer engines as takeoff and high airtemp offset power capacity (as the far east will experience more often). Cannot see why the "maintenance cost refinements" could not be offered by Airbus for the 380 now. Winglets were added to existing planes before (I recall Ryanair did this) and the cost of adding a new winglet and aircraft hanger and downtime would be minimised. Short of another airline asking for a 380 , this is just fantasy. However Emirates are correct - its slot capacity, passenger flight demand and more efficient planes that can fill that flight slot that means capacity per plane must rise or regional airports offer the answer to this constraint. Even with land based regional switches to trains, flying over mountains, deserts and water means regional planes still rule even with higher fuel costs cutting boom discount seasonal ticket orders and airport demand

No no no there is no need to panic because I have a better solution to replace the A380 this plane is already being made by Airbus so it shouldn't be a big problem for them to make it here's the problem Tim Clark wants these A380 NEOS because of the capacity has and because of what it can do for his airline and slot restricted airport the slot restricted airports do need the A380 Neo but here's the problem to do a c-check this plane would be enormous and not cost-effective so here is my proposition what is Airbus takes there a 350 stretches the plane and makes it not a twin-aisle plane but a triple aisle plane that easily can fit more than eight hundred passengers in one cabin class if feasible and done the right way Emirates could have their showers and have 640 seat in this a 350 2000 plain plus it would mean that Emirates airlines would have what they want in a single deck configuration the plane would be using composite materials and it would be much much more because of the composite material because this plane is a single deck plane and you have the wings that fold up like the triple 7x plane does this would be a huge win not only for Airbus but also for Emirates and all the other airlines and plus this plane would not be a quadrant but would be a twinject plane which means that many customers who want high-capacity planes could get this now you could lower down the seating and increase the range so theoretically this plane could fly say for example 20 hours if done right and if you decrease the seat you could get a couple more hours out of this plane the training would be the same as a normal a 350 plus the training would be very minimal on the airplane so the cabin crew would not need huge training it would be little bit of training the cost would be 90% less than operating an A380 and plus you get the same wings as the a350 - 1000 and the Airbus a350 - 900 plus the same runway length that the a350 - 1000 uses which is a really well sold plane now think about the dash 2000 that Airbus could come out with this would be very very fuel-efficient and it could be a replacer for the Airbus A380 and airlines wouldn't have to worry about anything else but they would only be looking at the bottom line is is this plane fuel efficient and yes this plane is fuel-efficient so from my point of view having a triple aisle plane would be very good because you could for example have two in the left three in the middle three in the other middle part of the plate plus you would have two on the right side of the plane now that being said airlines can also be used like a twin jet so you can have three seats on your left 6 seats in the middle three seats on the right which would be also a good thing for the airline's but this is something that maybe airlines like Turkish airlines Malaysian airlines Cathay Pacific airlines at don't like the 380 they could easily get this plane and it could solve all of Emirates airlines issues plus slot restricted airports another big thing is for example Emirates airlines can have their showers while Etihad airlines has their residence suite and apartment suite what do you think about this Airbus a350 - 2000 with three aisle configuration let me know in the comment section below have a good day DJ aviation

Perhaps the new A380 neo engines, if it is considered will incorporate a different type of avaition fuel which is cheaper than that being used today. That should be taken into consideration by the engine manufacturers to solve the A380 issue.

Too low volume for engine makers to be interested to invest the billions it would have taken. They already got burned on the first version so just were not interested.

If Clark didn’t want the PLUS then, why does he want one now?

They wanted the NEO not the Plus.

@@apveening Wasn't really up to EK to decide. RR and Airbus were not going to invest for so few sales to one carrier. EK wasn't as important to either of their investment decisions at they tried to negotiate.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. There was no point to this video, no story. A380neo vs A380plus - Emirates Fleet Decision: There is no decision to be made.

This plane is a money loser in any configuration, regardless of what the European champions might tell you. Boeing took the smarter track with the 787, and the the financial statements will provide the winner.

they should totally abandon A380…its totally failed project without future…nly airbus FANBOI channel n their followers boasting this white elephant too much😂😂😂

Or maybe its just that he looks at what interest there has been just like he has done on a lot of Boeing and Airbus planes and ideas.

Question is, if you think this is an Airbus fan channel why are you even here getting upset? If you’re so bothered by opinions on this channel just simply follow someone else. No one is holding a gun to your head.
