The new VR80 I shot a few days ago wouldn’t cycle the wal mart ammo like you just shot. It had been cleaned, oiled, and light load piston was installed.

Did you break it in first? The Federals in the pink box are only 1150 FPS and will only run AFTER you break it in with 250 rounds of 1350 of faster shells.

What pistol grip are you using? I recently bought a VR82 and am putting a Magpul Fixed Carbine butt stock on it, but am undecided about a pistol grip.
@mleeber2 жыл бұрын
I like the Hogue rubberized grip. I have them in stock at A3GMunitions.com or you can pick them up at your favorite store. I use them on most of the builds that use AR15 style grips. Here is the link: www.a3gmunitions.com/product/hogue-ar-15-m-16-rubber-grip-with-finger-grooves/ They also make a nice collapsable butt stock that is also rubberized.

Do you know if this system will work on a GForce Arms CIT12AR too? They look identical in the front.
@mleeber2 жыл бұрын
I do not know for sure. I have had several GForce Arms guns here but never that model. Most of the Turkish shotguns are made by the same folks in the same facility so odds are good.

Another question: I have a VR82. I recently bought one of your mag loaders for 20ga mags. It works GREAT! Now: Is there a BETTER handguard available for the VR82? The OEM handguard has the same issues as the VR80 handguard.
@mleeber2 жыл бұрын
Well, yes and no. I have designed the components necessary to use our carbon fiber handguard on the VR82 but with so few potential customers I am afraid it is a loosing proposition. I will revisit it though now that there are more VR82s out there.

Is there any way you guys could develop a picatinny rail attachment for the bottom of the factory hand guard? Or maybe develop a hand guard that has a picatinny rail built into the bottom and top? I dont find anything like this on the market and I think alot of VR80 owners would scoop something like this up.

Is anyone else having light primer strikes issues with their vr80? Before I upgraded the trigger to a tooth and nail trigger I was getting 60 percent light primer strikes now I’m down to about 25 percent with the tooth and nail. Shooting high brass 1300+FPS. Have not had one single failure to feed or failure to eject but the light primer strikes are even worse. I feel like the bolt release metal in the gun is getting in the way of the hammer to strike the pin enough? I’m going to be taking a Dremel to thin the inside of the metal on the bolt release a little bit but I feel like these guns are more work than they are worth. Let me know what you guys think. Seems like everyone is getting mixed results with these vr80’s

How do you get this gun yo run the lite stuff with so few rounds. Mine is basically a mess.
@mleeber3 жыл бұрын
Have you broken it in? How many rounds do you have through it? Were they "hot" loads at 1350FPS or faster? Are you lubricating the piston assembly and the rails in the receiver before shooting it? I recommend either a light viscocsity clear oil like RemOil or Mobil 1 5w30. A thick oil will just gum up the works.
@gregpearson70133 жыл бұрын
I have 325 rounds through it of high velocity rounds. I clean it after each time i shoot it. Complete tear down. I use a very light oil. One time I did not and found out quick that that wasn’t going to work. 1200 FPS with 1 oz load doesn’t function at all and 1300 FPS with 1 1-8 oz functions 50% of the time. I think this video of running like it does with 25 rounds is bologna.
@mleeber3 жыл бұрын
@@gregpearson7013 I assure you that I have had my hands on at least 18 VR80s to break them in and have never had a problem getting them all to run the 1145FPS shells. Some were sent to me by folks having problems. If you are running the Taccom buffer take it out, too much Kool-Aid for a nickel. Check your magazine feed lips for burrs as well as the chamber. Get a live shell that is smooth and a black sharpie. Paint the entire shell black with the sharpie and put an arrow on the back of the cartridge pointing up (then set it aside for a few minutes so the ink dries). Put the painted shell with the arrow on the back pointing up in a magazine and cycle it through the gun wihtout shooting it. Inspect the shell to see where the sharpie has rubbed off and compare that to the areas of the action to see if there are any burrs or imperfections. if you find nothing then do the same thing and shoot the round, see what it shows you. There may be a defect with your gun, it happens with any production gun occassionally, but dont give up on it. Worst case call the folks at RIA and they will gladly help you or have you send it back for inspection .

Thank you. I’ll do that. I’m not giving up. All of my shooting has been done with the factory 5 round magazines.

In this video does it have the stock 10lbs pull trigger?
@mleeber4 жыл бұрын
No. I did a trigger job on the gun when I got it, now it is about 4 lbs. I carry the Elftmann Tactical Triggers in my store, www.A3GMunitions.com, they are very nice and would be cheaper than paying a competent gunsmith to do a good trigger job. While the fire control group in the VR80 is very similar to an AR there are some important differences and your typical AR trigger work could easily leave you with a full auto shotgun or one where the hammer follows the bolt and it becomes a single shot.
@bryangarcia24294 жыл бұрын
@@mleeber nice info, getting mine shipped out to get a 2.5lb trigger job, what's you thoughts on how that's going to be? Really excited to test the rate of fire on a light trigger on this shotgun 💪
@mleeber4 жыл бұрын
@@bryangarcia2429 I like light triggers in most of my guns but my 3-Gun stuff is between 3.5 and 4 lbs, I find that is the best trade off to prevent an AD while running though a course of fire and getting the heart rate up. Now for my hunting guns where I don't have to worry about running through a course of fire I like 1-2lbs. I used to have a Thompson Contender that was no more than 6 ounces; by the time your brain told you finger to take the shot the bullet was already on target. Let me know what you think whe you get it back.
