Yes, this one geni.us/ZaZtd . If you're on a really tight budget then maybe this: geni.us/7I6WA as long as you stick with a light lens on the a6500.

Great work here Max. Loved that you collaborated with an experienced pro shoooter who has a lot of history with the Nikon flagships. I've had a higher hit rate on the a9 vs the Canon 1Dx II (not surprising after seeing this video). Plus, the a9 is just more fun to use. The AF point coverage is such a joy...much less cropping as we can now get images very close to final in camera.

Excellent work Max and Paul, this is the most comprehensive real world test published to date and the results speak for themselves. The intro sequence was just stunningly beautiful Max, you skills seem to be improving with every post and are already at the highest level on KZbin. Thank you both (and your assistants) for making this review possible. The Sony A9 is everything it was supposed to be and more, hopefully this will put some of the ridicules negativity and outright hate to rest.

@benchung6898
@benchung6898 7 жыл бұрын
In the sense of Apple to Apple comparison, if A9 is better than D5 , it implies that Sony GM 24-70 is equal to Tamron 24-70! Otherwise Nikon 24-70 should be used for the comparsion. Those thumps down may be for GM24-70 rather than A9 or Max. Haha take it easy!
@MaksimYuryev
@MaksimYuryev 7 жыл бұрын
The Tamron didn't have any issues. It was only used in a few tests (most stuff was the 70-200's) the wide shots where we used 24-70's both a9 and d5 performed the same (great).
@benchung6898
@benchung6898 7 жыл бұрын
So, do you mean GM24-70 and Tamron 24-70 are on the same level in terms of focusing speed, accuracy, electronic stuff, color rendition and picture quality? I learn Sony GM24-70 is much bigger than Tamron, much more muscle. If they perform at the same level, there is no reason to purchase the GM lenses. There is an opportunity that if you use Nikon 24-70, D5 may/not perform better!

HI Guys, I really appreciate this video, I'm keeping my eye on the Sony Line-Up for sure and the A9 is looking good. I've carried the D5 since it came out and I don't want to say how much I've spent on lenses. Such a truly extraordinary location you chose to shoot, all overcast, with great dynamics for portraiture in low contrast light. I haven't "felt" limited with the focus points and in video mode, the focus area is edge to edge with the D5, but I get what you're saying in stills. Best adapter for the A9 for Nikkor Lenses? I'll definitely pick up the A9 to play with before I jump on the next generation of Nikon D5s or 6 (whichever is next). Thanks again and I'm glad I found your channel!

Thanks for putting in the time and effort to do such a balanced real world comparison of these cameras Max and Paul! I've been highly suspicious of the Sony hype since the NYC event, as well as the "reviews" of other KZbin Photo hosts who have pronounced the a9 to be the greatest thing ever, without doing any real world testing at all. Or worse yet, doing "tests" in staged scenarios. And certainly nobody else that I know of has tapped the experience and expertise of a sports action shooter, to honestly review and compare this product. Kudos! The results you found are quite impressive. As for whether this is the "DSLR killer" that many commenters here are proclaiming it to be, only time will tell. I tend to think that those kinds of comments are a bit premature and overly dramatic, but the next few years in the camera world should be very interesting! As far as I'm concerned, you're the most credible camera tester/reviewer on KZbin today, Max. Many of your peers are seriously lacking any pretense of integrity since the days of corporate sponsorships began here. For the record, I happen to be a Pentax shooter, and don't shoot sports action, so I'm personally not going to throw any of my cameras in the trash and run out and buy Sony, Nikon, or Canon. But I still find these type of comparisons to be very interesting. Great job!

Between this and your latest videos, I felt remiss in not giving you a sub. Great job, Max. Also, nice touch with the a99 strap. ;)

First one of yours I've watched, Prolly won't be the last. The DSLR vs mirrorless is an interesting one and you've done a good job on the comparison. The gap virtually closed by the looks of it. Good work Max and Paul and Jennifer. Interesting stuff, very watchable - there's a lot of boring dross out there with too much irrelevant content; nice balance in this one so I stuck with it most of the way through; not into MMA :o) And lovely location.

Thank you both! seriously! I have the D750 and D4s and am considering this for action and outdoor lifestyle photography. I am in constant low light situations, so it sounds like it will work fine. Howz the Dynamic Range at base ISO? That would be my only thing..gotta be able to push/pull the files. I'm used to at least 14...the D4s I either am at ISO 50 or around 1000...everything in between isn't as good as D750.

Great review MAX. Many thanks to Paul for his time too. It's you guys I trust when you give opinions like this. Not in the market for the a9 though but i like to see how Sony progresses where the other 2 just give us bits and pieces as improvements. That's why I switched to Sony.
