As an engineer and a photographer I was a little annoyed with the generalization that two processors was more powerful than one. There are far too many variations between processors, architectures, number of cores, threaded software and clock speed to make a broad sweeping statement. It's just a minor comment, I really love your KZbin channel. Keep up the good work!
@mika26665 жыл бұрын
yeah a processor alone shouldn't be compared in cameras, things like frames per second and time to do certain actions should be the way to benchmark

It's a cop out to say the best camera depends on your shooting situation. People want to know which is the best overall camera. We know one is more expensive than all the rest. We know one is lighter than the rest. We want to know which one you would pick, with an unlimited supply of lenses, if you were going somewhere remote and could only take one camera system to do everything. That's what we came here for. Don't try to keep everyone happy. Pick a camera.

Liam Photography I would guess that has less to do with a cameras ability and more to do with brand sorority's AKA wanting people to see them as the pro that they may or may not be. A second influence would be lens selection. Sony is starting to push out lots of lenses but the selection isn't as vast as Nikon and Canon's.

Im sorry, but this is another of those videos that dont say much. We all can read specs. Your real world reviews are reaaaally good, but those that you just compare the specs are pointless. Comparing ISO on the maximum range? why does it matter? Focusing points? PROCESSORS? How can you compare processors? Oh, because its dual processors so its fast? Keep up the good work and I would avoid those videos. Cheers!

Great share of your opinion, always enjoy the information you share. 51years I have taken photos, in the 80's worked for a fashion photographer in NYC. Let me first say Rollei, K1000, AE1, FM, F2as, F3 ,RB67,Fuji 6x9-4x5/8x10 cameras and then returned n60,D50,D90 a5000. Converting to Sony wasn't easy, coming from such a Nikon love. But new paths and not carrying a BRICK around my neck as I had many years, Sony mirrorless caught my attention. I do watch a lot of information sources, in this video more than normal, listen to you voice when you have to admit Nikon isn't a leader, it goes down as if their is a bitter taste you have to admit Nikon or Canon isn't the best. Remember the photography business of selling cameras was on a spiral DOWN, with a majority of pictures being taken by cell phones! Sony took the BULL by the horn and offered a smaller lighter option, my opinion powered the non-pro to take more pictures. Yes, I wish Canon, Nikon took mirrorless more serious! Panasonic, Olympus, Pentax and Fuji efforts are farther ahead! I would like to see some videos talking about them! Maybe a history of where they started in digital cameras and where they are now. Looking at their tech and features sound interesting. I will not buy a $5000 camera Brick on my neck and that is out of my budget. Lens is my attention. Look forward to your remarks ........ Jeff😀😀

@chrischan51687 жыл бұрын
Jayanth Shailendra I’m aware, I use an a7rii. They have some great focus modes, but they are nowhere near as accurate as dslr yet and the best focus modes won’t even work with adapted lenses, even some of the most popular 3rd party lenses don’t support them . Not enough keepers when I shoot motorsports. And I’ve found eye af sometimes catches the bridge of the nose instead of the eye, I still use single point af.
@bryanbahling28776 жыл бұрын
lol fro I bet you wish you could have this review back. The a9 really wins in every single category. It absolutely kicks the s*** out of the Nikon and Canon in high ISO. It focuses faster and the auto focus is better then both of the DSLR's. Eye AF absolutely destroys dual pixel AF.

It's close between the d850 and the AR7III. Both are ahead of the 5DS. For landscapes, I'd take the d850 over the 5DS because it has better DR. I actually made a video comparing the two.
@MichelleLevasseur7 жыл бұрын
I also own the 5dsr and while I will agree with you (Clint Ashley) that it is great for landscapes, product and portrait I will also add that it is good for wildlife, sports and music events/gigs. I have used it for all of that and have been more than pleased with the results. I don't spray and pray but I do take bursts of action to ensure I have a choice of expressions, body position etc when I shoot gigs and have not only never caught up to the buffer, I have had no low iso issues. Too many variables involved for anyone to definitively say that it is very user specific or rather weirdly, that it is meant for those who use flash. It is a great camera for all types and there isn't ever just one answer, just one good choice. As Jared says, there are pros and cons to all cameras, it just matters what you want to do with it. Just another opinion for you Aleksi :)

If I were choosing one for my motorsport photography, I’d rule out the Sony and be happy with either one of the DSLRs... lens choice, monster battery life, top deck display, ruggedness. All those extra buttons you get on DSLRs really come in handy when you need to switch settings fast too. A9 is very good, but I don’t think the advantage of mirrorless really shows itself with sports photography.

Nice video. I'm a bit confused with the auto-focus tie though. The I'm sure are all comparably good in the general case, but Sony's Eye-AF feature is super convenient and works really well, but it got no mention? I'm guessing the non-Sony's don't have any kind of object tracking auto-focus either, which is probably why sports photographers are going towards Sony. Even as a novice, I can lock on to an object, and the camera does a damn good job at holding focus while it moves towards or away and take multiple photos. It also seemed like a really big stretch to not give the A9 a check on price when even with the (not actually mandatory) grip, it comes out to $1200~$1700 cheaper than the other two? That's an extra lens or two? I don't get how that's not a clear winner, especially considering on merits alone the camera is at least on par with the other two. Even size was kind of a strange non-win category for the A9. I get that a smaller camera may actually not be as comfortable to hold for extended periods of time. But 3~3.3lbs can also an issue. "The best camera is the one you have on you." I can see how a professional would care a bit less (I guess that is the target audience here for $4k+ cameras) about this if they are going out for a known job, but I imagine there are still size/weight issues that matter in situations. Do you have room for a backup camera body? Are you hiking somewhere and don't want to carry as much weight?

What do you mean by critical focus?
@ColonelRuiz7 жыл бұрын
when you focus right at the spot you need like exactly on an eye. This is much more important when you have a large aperture and a long lens since the DOF is so shallow. When some cameras "focuses" it sometimes just comes close, but not right on the spot - and that can ruin a portrait.

It's too bad there isn't a common measure (like GHz) to know which one has the best processor. If I was a manufacturer, I'd simply call it 'BestCPUEver' and I'm sure I'd win the war of specs based on the name alone... About FPS, I think it's best to compare the same file format. If the a9 only does 12 fps in uncompressed RAW, then that's the best it can do. Obviously, both Nikon and Canon won't get any faster even if the file format changes, but still, it's nice to use the same basis for comparison. Both the D5 and 1D Mk II are getting old, so I'm looking forward to Nikon and Canon's response. Oh, lastly, I'm strong enough, so I'll keep my Canon gear. Imagine a bunch of a9 shooting paparazzo outside a nightclub: the superstar comes out, and what do you hear? Silence! ;-)

Using 1 DX mark 2 fr 2 years but only for candid photos... For candid videos A7r 3 and A9. for event capturing 5d mark 3 and for traditional photos Nikon d810 I'm happy with that but I'm always not getting satisfied with canons vibrance colours 😶 till now

You are not the master of light because once you use the Sony A9, you become the master of electronics getalife. 80D and D5600 user :) Nice comparison btw

Canon has better pro glasses than both Nikon an Sony combined. U should have noted this. Have you been to an Olympic sporting event, Jared? Do you know what the majority of top photographers use?

It's funny you said that dual sensor of Canon and not the Stacked CMOS sensor of A9 which has more processing capacity.

Sony and Nikon nail it and Canon lags way behind I wonder what the Canon engineers are doing to fall behind so quickly

Canon 4k at 60fps = 8 check marks. The other cameras are obsolete if they can't give me slo mo at 4k.

Why this even a comparison : just from the size a9 wins. For everyday users a9 is just a to go camera . That’s it
