I own one of these..It also updated when I set it up about 9 weeks ago and surprise, surprise about a week ago it updated again..this time with noticeable improvement in speed and more vivid colour..My TV is only 1080p 59" so I'm really enjoying this unit. (hint to anyone with Data Caps change Resolution in settings to match your tv . I received mine and it had been working very well for 2 weeks now. I bought the 64Gb version, in addition to the small bluetooth handheld keyboard/track pad. To date, I'm very happy with its performance. Admittedly, I don't play power games, so the DDR3 RAM in this unit is just fine. Otherwise, I'd pay more to those that now come with DDR4 RAM.

I'd definitely buy this box before I paid triple the price to get that ridiculously overpriced skull box you reviewed last week. This box looks much more "un-white trashy" than the one with the skull on its top. Good job finding these sensible alternatives to the shield (price wise). I love when you review boxes like these that actually have a place in the market. I'm using my daughter's Xiaomi mi box while I'm traveling and this is a box I'd consider to replace her mi box, or if she didn't like it I could take it and let her keep the mi box.

I just setup my nvidea shield this weekend and I'm very very impressed apart from the wifi speed it's not as fast as the 4k firestick.. its great via ethernet but ( was gonna be bedroom use ) its going to have to live downstairs for the moment ( I'll move my extenders about a bit)... great quality in 4k and cant wait to play some games

Russian TV Box fanatics are saying that this one is the best cheap box because of good quality components (it will last longer than other boxes). Also they are saying to avoid "Air" and "Slim" variants because of poor quality motherboard. Another tip I got from them is to drill few holes for better cooling, or just buy an 80-120mm fan (with rubber legs and USB connection) and place the box on top (if you can stand the noise that fan makes...).

I bought the X3 Air model which I believe is the 64 bit you speak of here. It run me $54 (I'm in the us) and included a trackpad which is so cheap I'm probly gonna throw it away. It is a noticable upgrade from the RIO-R10 with the Rockchip 3288. I been researching this box while waiting for it on Amazon and I believe the "X3" in A905X3 means 3rd gen. I could be wrong but I wanna say the A906X would NOT be better than the A905X2 but better than A905X... I dunno-maybe I should get a hobby!!! LMAO
