@@TaTa-rq6dl you’d really look at someone who’s black and tell them they’re not black enough because of their personality, their tastes, their aesthetic or their struggle with their identity? How is that not colourist? It’s racist to call someone not black enough just because they don’t fit a stereotype or don’t fit into a cultural identity. Many black people have been upset enough to burn stuff down. The fact that it’s a school makes a difference but you still can’t say that someone’s not black bc they engage in violence or have mental or emotional problems.

Black is different to African American. Black refers to a person who is of African descent. You could be a black person in Germany, Korea, England, anywhere. Black people who are specifically from America are African American.

@@TheDavisfreak Yes, you're black Americans. Similarly, there are black Germans, black English, black Korean etc. Black people live everywhere because black is a race. You guys are just black people who are specific to America. Identify as whatever, Black American or African American, I don't care, but y'all aren't the only black people

My favorite part of this is the subtle detail that the black man who ignited these boys' anger by telling them both that they aren't black has almost the exact same name as a confederate general - its weird and doesn't make any sense, but in the best way - just like this show
