the important thing to remember about the spy kids movies is that they were literally just created for fun; they weren't intended to be 'good' or even to make money (especially considering their very low budget). the director just wanted to make just wanted to make something his kids could enjoy, called up a bunch of his actor friends and decided to mess around and make it as cheesy as possible. and considering how much we all loved them as a kid...i think they did their jobs.

So fun fact, when you learn to dive you actually have to learn how to clear your mask of water while you are under water. What happens if your mask gets knocked off then you have water in your mask?
