He thinks of a lot of concepts pre battle, and then applies it to music. Great musiality for sure, the creativity part is mostly happening off stage. Which yes many should improve on.

MT Pop win is well deserved. Jikay as a challenger is well deserved. MT's style is a step forward in the way he does popping. It always seems to flow really well and is indeed an inventory is where he takes it. Can't think of a popper who is able to commit to a ground game on his level nevermind the ability to be creative on foot. Props to Jikay. I think his style is 100% traditional but it's taken to such a high level that makes me wonder what age he is or how many years he's been popping. Moves real well and flows really nicely. Doesn't come off as stiff. Great battle. Those decibel ratings confirm.

The dj did a service for The Bay. The first and third track are PBI exclusives. It made MT's rounds much more vibrant and interesting than if other tracks were played.🔥🐇💯

Jikay always been nice, I especially liked his solos at the K.O.D group battles in France. You made a good point with KIDD and MT Pop battle and noticed KIDD called out MT Pop lack of making space or travelling and staying in one spot. I think that could be a weakness that dancers will pick out on because KIDD made MT Pop sweat. Thing is MT Pop 2016-2018 used to strutt a lot more, travel, used the space plus have good footwork. And have a good balance of tuts, groove, footwork, concepts/creativity. His 2018 Groove N Move battle is a good example, especially his battle against Red Pop. I guess over time, a dancer style changes, not ever dancer but some do, like Slim Boogie and Greenteck. Mt Pop is one of them now.

the greats usually focus a lot on concepts that they think of outside of battles. His concepts are currently very tutting, bodywave and figures focused. He should do more travelling concepts for sure.

jikay killed 2nd and 3rd round too. But MT Pop is just on another level overall. Just one step ahead. All the OG poppers can't handle either because their heavy boogaloo style and foundation looks a little more boring next to MT.

So the thing I see is a lack of creativity out of popping but the creativity in popping is there for a lot of poppers but it’s the style not necessarily looking like the same style for 20 yrs but new levels. Such as Greenteck in his respective generation or future/slim in their respective generation or Salah or Rashaad in their respective generations. But it’s like the fun and creativity stops after a while and the younger generations with the help of these organizations that promote them has the say so on what popping should look like and they get the right bc it seems like older poppers or more seasoned poppers remain in a stagnant way and other than ground mobility and some spins or vibrations. Popping hasn’t really evolved as a whole. Now u taking about those poppers picnics, they get down for real. MT pop did hit that Mr Wave hammer wave combo that was really sick

That's what I thought too, but I'm not so sure now. In my mind I want Greenteck 2018 vs MTPop 2024, but that matchup is not happening. 2024 Greenteck was not doing anything particularly interesting in his battle vs Sonya. He didn't seem like the Greenteck that took the popping world by storm. IMO Sonya should have won (and Greenteck said as much), and she lost to MTPop before. This isn't a 'powerscaling' forum, but I'm just not seeing a meaningful exchange between the two. MTPop vs Nelson is a better matchup, and it happened.

He was there at Infinite Force, the very same event where MT Pop and Jikay battled in the finals, a week before Summer Dance Forever. Greenteck didn´t participate, but was just in the audience, he came to do his workshop and that was it. Dude doesn´t wanna battle, and especially not to someone whos winning every jam he participates, while also having a style Greenteck believes to be wack. His ego couldn't handle such a loss, if it should appear.
