Even when you already know how to do something, it’s nice to be able to see someone else do it before you get started. Thank you for a fine video with excellent detail and solid narrative! You gave me all I needed to jump right in and take care of replacing the shoes on my ‘06 Titan and I now have a parking brake that actually works! Thank you!

Aaron Thanks for your videos. I replaced the emergency brakes today - all new parts including the rotors and disc brake pads. I used your video to get me through it. Videos, all videos, are edited and all the crap is cut out. My job went like clockwork until I had to put those larger springs in ..... man that was some work. That was definitely the hardest part to the whole job. Again thank you.

Aaron very good video. My 14 Armada park brake has never held firm since I bought in 2018 and I was honestly surprised to learn was a shoe system but with your knowledge I will take care of. Haven’t worked on drums since jeeze probably 1988 34 years that’s crazy. Many thanks. Actually have a break tool for working with springs

All of the parts minus one of the clips and half of the clamp fell off when I took the disc off. Would I be able to put the brake disc and caliper back on a drive to the store to replace the parts?
@MechanicalMikesRoadsideRepair5 күн бұрын
If the emergency brake shoes fell apart, and the hardware as well….remove all of those pieces, so nothing comes loose and falls inside the drum, you can put the drum back on with no parking brake ONLY if it’s like this where there’s a brake caliper with brake pads on the brake rotor. Rear brakes which are DRUM only, you’d have no back brakes and would blow the wheel cylinder out causing a loss of brake fluid.

Hey Great video as always Thanks for all the helpful much needed advice someone REMOVED ALL the parking brake equipment for some reason and I am wondering if this is why my 4wd isn't working. Replaced front diff replaced both front bearing hub assembly new rotors pads all the way around. at a loss as why my SLIP and ABS lights are on I think this might be the culprit any direction would be appreciated.

HAS ANYONE HAD A WORKING PARKING BRAKE AFTER THIS INSTALL?!?? I have 2 titans. A 2004 and a 2005 both around 180k miles. I had a shop replace rear shoes on one, they couldn't get the parking brake to hold on a small hill, I tried to redo it, still won't hold. Then on my other Titan, I replaced shoes and rear rotors, no good either and won't hold on smallest hill!! WTF? Any ideas, I've done the burnishing procedure, when installing I made sure adjuster was as expanded as possible. Only thing I'm thinking is the cable needs to be replaced.. DOES NO ONE ELSE HAVE TGIS ISSUE!?
@johnpetrie76157 ай бұрын
Cable may have slipped out of it's holder. It has the hook to hold it but if it comes undone you probably can't see it until you take the rotors off to get to it. Sorry I didn't see your comment until now hope you figured it out.

Hey Aaron, gotta question. I own '12 titan. I done everything in the video. When I set my parking brake it doesn't hold still. Is there another adjustment that I need to check? I adjustment the little cog wheel to expand the drum like the video said to but still won't hold.

Hey Aaron I have a quick question about an issue I'm having with my titan.
@calebchiu7473 жыл бұрын
So I followed your guide and installed the parking brake on my passenger side, and it took some finessing to get my rotor on, so I assumed it would have a nice tight grip, but when I depressed the parking brake pedal, I was able to still turn the wheel by hand. What did I possibly do wrong?
@AaronHinesAuto3 жыл бұрын
You need to adjust the shoes out via the adjuster

Thanks Aaron, excellent work as usual. I recently began to have trouble using my reverse gear and several guys on the Titan forums mentioned a broken parking brake may be the culprit. Gonna pull my rotors and check it out. I am camped in the back country of AZ now and don't have access to parts at the moment. Any driveability issues if I remove the old parking brake components before driving to the parts store?
@gutaroker902 жыл бұрын
I have not had mine in for two years lol. No issues if you remove. I just bought a set though due to getting a 22 ft center console I was never worried with my 16ft but this thing weights 4x as much. Rather be safe than sorry!
@trekfortruth28412 жыл бұрын
@@gutaroker90 thx for the info. I pulled my rotors and everything looked OK as best I can tell...no broken parts or impingement on the drum. Still may replace the ebrakes this year though. Truck only has 85k on it so I can't believe it would have any significant transmission issues.
@gutaroker902 жыл бұрын
@@trekfortruth2841 you’re welcome when did the rear rotors and breaks my e brake came off as dust 😂 change all your fluids at regular intervals and do spill and fills she will last I’m at 165k, tow hard, and send it very often. No problems. One of Nissans best builds with Jatco for sure.
