The Nothing Ear cost half the price of the XM5s and 100$US less than the Airpods Pro 2. I know they go on sale from time to time but still quite a good showing from Nothing I'd say. So how’s the mic pickup when you use the AirPods on an iphone? If I understand it correctly, you demonstrated it without the iPhone mic isolation feature. This is IMO not a fair comparison as it is reasonable-ish to assume that an AirPods user has an iPhone. It will be more often true than not

I‘m sure they will get an update for the Consistency of the ANC as well as it‘s VERY good but in some places, some sounds are coming through a bit.

Longtime Sony WFer here… was at the airport today and for the last time I’ll be using my XM5s for call situations. They’re amazing for sound, and I’ll keep for workout and audio sessions, but just got a pair of Nothjng 2s slightly used for $65. My workday/commuting earbuds going forward. I was quite stunned at the Nothing's performance with wind, the microphone sounds best on Airpods, but with all that wind noise it didn't matter so much. BTW, you can share audio on Samsung and now Pixel devices too. We've been listening to music on my S22 because she has an Iphone and cannot share with me, but I can connect her and my headphones.

For anyone watching this in 2024- Owned both Sonys and AirPod pro 2 and a iPhone user. The whole ecosystem argument is silly imo, rather than having an app you just have the features in settings. I prefer the app layout and there are more features for the Sony. The only one up the AirPods have is the find me feature. The Sonys (with azla max) are also more comfortable and provide a better seal Than the AirPods although they are still comfortable. AirPods standard tips are better than the Sony. ANC- not even close Sonys are the clear winner. AirPods are poor at blocking out voices. Mic quality - both not great but from testing, Sony has the edge Sound quality - again not even close Sony sounds significantly better especially with the ability to have custom eq. The airpods have very poor base and I found the sound empty. Sony provide rich and full sound with really good base and crisp vocals. Battery - similar quoted battery life but Sony win, AirPods have random battery life with always one pod running out of charge at least 30 mins before the other. I still have both products but honestly if Sonys are a 9.5 then AirPods are an 8 at best. Hope this helps

My Nothings are great but the Stem came apart on one side. I bought the Qualcomm Chip APTx, HD Audio Earfun Air Pro 3's for $55 & they blow my Nothings away! All of my high end codecs auto activate on my S24 Ultra in developer options. Which you cannot change these settings. They just auto change when they detect what your buds offer.

I have the Nothing 2 and Likbuds S and because they are really bad when you are in a crowded environment, I replaced them with the OnePlus buds 3, believe me, if you want a mic that filter noise in crowded environments like airports or restaurants the OnePlus buds 3 are the best I found till date.

It's good to have compared these Nothing Ears to the Airpod Pro 2 and Sony Xm5, but I would have preferred to see them opposite the OnePlus Buds 3, Soundcore Liberty 4 NC, Realme Buds 5 Pro... Ps: I'm not a fan of Apple, but it would be good next time to use the ambient noise reduction option of the iPhone during the call test in a noisy environment of the Airpods. 🙏🏽

Airpods have permanent preinstalled eq, sony's dont they are fresh you can do it yourself. Sonys actually sound better i have both and sonys win. Maybe your microphones are shit, or you are using the wrong size and not fiting them corectly
