I admire the caurage u have to open up about it & plz stop saying that u s.t think u're not smart enough etc , u are good enough man ,the effort that u're making is more valuable than the final results so don't let the results/exams define who u actually are .I remember that once YOU said :" setbacks are part of the journey but quitting is not " & I wrote this sentence down on a paper & put it on my desk to always remember it ..I really appreciate this vid , there are many pple who will experience almost the same things as u did & Im sure that this vid will mean a lot to them 🙏🌟👌👏

Just found out a couple of days ago that Im going to have to repeat a year of medschool. I still havent told my parents about it yet and I have been feeling depressed about it. Hey don't give up. This next year is going to be a true test to your commitment to medicine. You will be able to pick up the material fine since you already kind of know it. The difficulty for me was my own imposter syndrome constantly asking if I can do it but YOU CAN. I can only tell you that these last 3 weeks of actual clinical has made me fall in love with the world of medicine again. I was constantly thinking if this is what I really wanted but now in clinicals I remember IT IS. I am only a message away on here or instagram if you need to talk or need help.

Hi Namoonga, I agree but I made it through and so can you. Study hard. Remember why you are doing it, remember a test score does not define in the absolute how intelligent or good of a doctor you will ever be.

Today I wanted to jump in nile, I have failed just by one subject. And for next year whole year all I have to study is that one subject. Thankyou for making this video. You saved me. Hey man don't give up. I am a Dr now and although residency is really difficult. You can make it thorugh medical school. I always suggest students use Uworld and Amboss to study for USMLE. Focus on taking care of yourself and your family. Medicine will always be there. Do not let it consume your life. You are more than your studies and becoming a doctor. When you pass in a year please come back and comment.

Space repetition and practice questions are just as key for learning path and preparing for step so it's wonderful that you already have a system down, it'll definitely make dedicated go by easier for you. Med/Psych dual residency -> addiction is at the top of my list but I’m also considering just family rn with ENT at a far third (I’m competitive for it but I don’t think it’d be as rewarding for me as the other two, even though it’s a really cool field.)

Psych scares me for some reason. Idk if its my mexican taboo but I feel so uncomfortable. I feel like I cant connect. I feel awful. Not too much experience with ENT but specializing in some peds field is a top choice for me. Hem/onc, anesthesia, critical care.

Aaron Trillo I hear you. I’m half Mexican, half Arab and both sides shy away from mental health care unfortunately. I can’t tell you how many times my parents have told me that I should consider another path but honestly psych is really cool and has soooo many tools that could benefit brown and black communities who are often overlooked or not taken as seriously - not to go on a tangent too much Lmno sorry!

I hear you man. I 100% agree we need more of it and we need to de-stigmatize mental healthcare in our communities. FM seems like a good path because I can do a lot of advocacy work which is something I plan to do A LOT of as a doctor.
