It's a great thing you were told of the old farm stead, other scrappers would have just wadded everything up and scrapped it. Nice save on the (Picker) & (Baler).

My dad had a #6 picker...but made a pull-type hitch for it, added a wheel/axle to the right hand side...a picked a lot of acres with it by pulling it with a D-14 and D17 Allis Chalmers. I spent a lot of fun times riding in the wagon behind that picker.

I have a “scrap wagon” too! Lol.. Not nearly as much in it as you’ve got, though. I’m just biding my time, waiting for the price to go up, and adding to it in the meantime. When all is said and done, I’ll have a decent running gear for a hay wagon, and the old gravity box will count towards scrap weight.

Good find and nice to see things cleaned up , great ya found some treasures, my wife has a bunch of wheels good for rose bushes, when I was younger I hauled alot of scrap late 80s n 90s were tough time around here to find any work , I saved alot of things and some didn't make it but was honest work didn't take things we weren't to take . Got a reputation and that got me more scrap being honest is the only way . From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful

I thought about that front hitch but I got rid of the Ford. Should be worth a 100.00 at least. I sold the plow too, lol.the plow is a yard ornament now. Really cool that you saved the picker. Couldn't beat the price for sure. I think you are right, ten years sooner would have made a big difference. In time, with your skills, I'm sure you will have all your projects up and running. It was worth the wait for the video.

Hey Ethan seeing those plow layes brings back memories of my dad putting new points and forge welding new cutting edges on plow layes like those he was a blacksmith and welder could fix almost anything like you and your dad. He took a semi mount john deere picker and made it into a pull type for convenience so he didn't have a tractor he needed for other things with the semi mount picker on it. Thanks for the memories your viewer from Iowa.

At first glance, a person wonders about resurrecting some items...but as you said, some things are too far gone. In our area used 14 inch tires are next to impossible to find. Used 15 inchers are getting scarcer. From your prior videos, sounds like 20 inch truck tires are scarce and expensive. I can only imagine availability of "odd sizes" of rear tractor tires.

I came across an abandoned farm a year ago. Not much left for equipment. But in the dairy barn in the haymow was a John Deere 200 hay carrier in pretty good condition. The left side of the roof has been opened up. I think often about going and getting it. Shame to see the roof cave in on it. I even found the original manual for it in the barn as well.

That electric motor is loaded with copper windings. cut one side of the stator with a quick cut or torch and build a fire inside it you can remove all the windings and hundreds of $ more than mixed scrap price. #2 copper. If the armatures copper wound you can scrap it whole for electric motor price, too much work to strip armatures.
