This video tells the tale of the French screenwriter who goes by the name Lambert. Mister Lambert came from a poor French family and was told all his life to pursue the trade of his father. But Lambert persisted and followed his dreams and passion for screenwriting. His hard work paid off and one of his scripts got picked up and used in the world-famous movie true lies, but the downside was that his script was stolen and he got no credit for his work. For years mister Lambert battled against the big institutions in Hollywood to get recognition for his work. After years of legal battles, he finally won and got a large sum of money. With this money, he bought himself an incredible manor in France. He wrote many more movie scripts throughout his life and this is all reflected inside of his abandoned home. He passed away at the age of 86 and left behind a house full of memories. Thank you for the support Xx Lesley and Jordy xX

The phrase painted on the wall above the fireplace is- "Seuls les poissons morts suivant le courant", to English is, "seals dead fish following the current". Translated to English grammar is, " Only dead fish swim with the stream". In USA we would say, "Don't go with the flow".

An amazing home indeed, so many memories, the french tapestry designed chairs were beautiful, his books, and personal affects, saddens me. The blue color and design brings out the masterpiece of the burnt orange design of that fireplace, very unique and unusual. Lambert's choice of burnt orange wood color, a favorite of mine, throughout the wood craftsmanship is magnificent, giving off a classic elegant warmth of his history and love for the screenwriting. Like the phase stated, Mr. Lambert never followed someone else's FLOW, but created his own. This man of so many talents was a genius, a thinker, a creator. Carefully putting the players in places needed for HIS ultimate spectacular affect on the screen. His Handler/Caretaker might have been Egyptian, and took care of Lambert's other affairs, maybe served as his Bodyguard. The two children photos, might belong to the Bodyguard or servants. Taking the Entertainment Industry to court, probably made enemies. Bros of Decay, Bravo! your choice of background music, was perfecto. Well done. 1trillion Likes 👍🏻for you.💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕 My deepest condolences to the Lambert Familia. 🕊

Here is something interesting I found.......Film: True Lies Plaintiff: Lucien Lambert Claim: Cameron is technically a defendant in this suit, but it's highly unlikely that he had any hand in the alleged plagiarism here. True Lies is a remake of the 1991 French film La Totale!, directed and co-written by Claude Zidi. Screenwriter Lucien Lambert claimed that La Totale! was based on his 1982 script Emilie and filed suit against Zidi and Cameron in French court. Result: Lambert lost his initial suit as he was not able to prove that Emilie predated La Totale! However, he prevailed on appeal. Since Cameron purchased the remake rights in good faith, he was not ordered to pay any damages to Lambert. Instead, Zidi was ordered to pay damages out of the $15 million he received from the remake. Notes: Although Lambert's attorney, Olivier Meyer, notes that Cameron wasn't at legal fault, he still got his digs in at the director. Variety quotes him as saying, “It is not very nice for James Cameron, who is really not at fault in all of this, but a moral judgment has been made nonetheless. When you buy something, you have to know where it has come from.”

Hi Lesley, Bros of Decay, This is an incredibly interesting video to listen to your narration about the screenwriter Lambert. - I have actually seen the movie "True Lies", when it was running in the cinemas back in the days. - It's a hilariously exciting movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in the leading roles. I can only recommend to watch it once in a while. - There were quite a number of interesting items to see. - I especially liked the statue on the chimney mantlepiece. I think, this could be an object of considerable value. - Mr. Lambert was probably also a highly educated man, if you look at all his books and the items, which clearly show, that he apparently was also a talented artist considering his drawings and paintings. - Although I could already enjoy watching a video about this house from your very good friends of explomo. I really loved your version of that location as a different interpretation with the typical very sensitive Lesley-isch touch, which makes your vids so unique. - So thank you so much for this wonderful and amazing video. Wishing you a lot more inspirations from your explores, peace and lots of blessing, and I wish you kindest regards.

The title of the video is a little inaccurate. Lambert did not produce "True Lies". He was a script writer/screen writer. He wrote the original story on which the plot of "True Lies" was based. Lambert's 1982 unfilmed script was called "Emilie". Lambert's story was later used without his knowledge or consent by a screen writer named Claude Zidi for the plot of the 1991 French film "La totale". Zidi then sold the remake rights for "La totale" to James Cameron for his 1994 U.S. film "True Lies". When Lambert realized his story of "Emilie" had been used without his consent or payment he sued Zidi and Cameron and was award an "undisclosed sum" from the $15 million that Cameron had paid Zidi "in good faith" for the story rights.

The document at 17:03, Sunrise at Noon, is for a comedic play not a film. It is a 1994 registration certificate for an adaptation by American Norman Stokle of Lambert's "Bonjour Emilie" . It is described by a theatrical licensing company as "This hilarious play concerns a New York architect's attempts to save his marriage. A simple, quiet man, Philip yearns for a peaceful existence while his wife Karen craves excitement. A friend suggests that Philip become a hero in the eyes of his wife by pretending to lead a mysterious double life. The scheme works perfectly until coincidence allows fiction to overtake reality and the couple is thrust into the seamy New York underworld. Karen is kidnapped and Philip, posing as a Mafia godfather to save her, unwittingly helps the police break up a major criminal network. The action moves with absurd logic from one cliff hanging situation to another until all is resolved ... except Karen's questions about what sort of man her husband really is. This clever and original play engages with its blend of quick paced action, comical situations, high drama, endearing characters and witty dialogue."

I have been watching your videos for a while now, and you always say that a bidet is for a woman. That is a misconception. Bidets came about around the 1600's as a way to clean your bottom after using the toilet, as they didn't bath very often. The misconception came about during the war when men from countries that don't have bidets associated bidets with brothels.

I have lived all my life in the Los Angeles area and the scene where Arnold rides the horse through the beautiful hotel was the, now torn down, Ambassador Hotel. Very famous back in the day. It was so sad to see it go. I did want to point out that there was an audio tape machine on his desk and i was yelling at you to turn it on but maybe it didn't work anymore. I don't know how you get permission to go into these places but it is fascinating. As you know , here in LA , noting is old. Respect, History, Quality.. The piano playing was my favourite Christmas carol. "o holy night" I think such appropriate music so calming. Just a thought Lesley, and Jordy you should go back with a recorder one day to play what was on the tape. It would be interesting. I'm so glad there was no Ransacking, no Graffiti, just left like it was. I'm also so glad Mr Lombardi? Won his legal action. True lies was a great movie. All those beautiful books, furniture, I hope it is saved by relatives. The end with the rope on the bed in the attic makes my mind think uummm was he thinking of ending his life, or maybe had bad intentions for the naked girl in the photo. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Nooo just my active imagination. Be safe hugs from Australia xx

Feel so sad to go such places rotting. Indeed he was a respectable man, so why there's no one to take care of his property ? Why the govt let it go waste ? Can't they turn it into a museum and conserve it ??

Why not just let his home be given to someone in his family or to someone else who has no home? I hate seeing homes being left to rot and homeless people to die on the streets or in awful shelters. If I died and left behind a big house and my family didn’t want it, I’d leave my home and possessions to people who would care for it and live there and add their own. Seeing these abandoned homes just makes one miss the people who are gone or entered eternal peace. I hope Lucien’s family still can go to the house and he himself is at peace.

Great video, as usual. I thought you might be interested in this story from Variety magazine (a Hollywood publication) that talks about Lambert's win in court where he was awarded $15 million. court-lies-a-true-copy-1117907270. And yes, you should consider doing an ASMR channel. You've got the best voice.

Lambert was not awarded $15 million. The article in Variety says the French writer Claude Zidi was paid $15 million by Cameron for the rights to remake Zidi's 1991 film "La totale" as the 1994 film "True Lies". Zidi was the person who used Lambert's earlier 1982 story idea and script called "Emilie" for "La totale" and then sold the story rights to Cameron. The article says Lambert will get an "undisclosed" amount from the $15 million Zidi received - not the whole $15 million. The article says Cameron won't have to pay anything to Lambert because he bought the rights in good faith from Zidi. The article also said Cameron and Zidi planned to appeal the court's decision. I couldn't find any public information as to the actual amount Lambert finally received.

Bros Of Decay my dear....it is spreading world wide. It’s now in the U.S.A. , France, Australia, Spain, the U.K. Japan, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and they’re waiting to detect other sick people in other countries as we speak they are suggesting people wear goggles, gloves, and masks the N95 masks. Go home and make videos there. I bet all of your fans would love to see your home country and your home and family. This would probably be the perfect time to do that. It’s really really scary out there and we are just worried for you the airports and buses and trains are a very bad Place to be right now. Just looking out for you we’ve been watching you for a very long time probably since your first video and we love you guys
