Been in that first house in Reynella and it’s straight up uninhabitable. I was told that it can’t currently be sold because of ongoing legal battles regarding a deceased estate.

I have a house 3 doors down that has been vacant for the whole time I've lived here 3 years or more. There are cars in the driveway that are unregistered. Around a year ago it look like someone cleaned up everything and then it looked like someone moved in and then immediately vacated again so there's probably something wrong with it inside but no one comes to repair it. (Makes me wonder whether they got a relative or something to move in for a short period just to get the council off their back)

Don't stop. Just don't stop. This property ponzi must be stopped.

Just because a car is no longer registered doesn't mean the house is abandoned. I've got a friend with two cars, one permanently sits in the driveway waiting for the day when he has enough money to waste fixing it up, and the other is new and usable. I get why you are engaged in this activism, but I also advise caution in the methods of selection. People are at risk with sharing informative like this if they do in fact actually live there. Otherwise, do your thing, I'm also against properties that could be homes sitting vacant, but want to suggest caution.

Brilliant, I’ll definitely be joining your patreon when I have a bit more cash, I recently came out of homelessness so this sort of content hits hard, the fact I had to live in a $14 big w tent while houses sit empty makes my stomach turn

They own the land they can do whatever they want with it!! Stop trespassing!!!!
@nicktaylor52647 ай бұрын
But it's stolen goods mate. What it is, is a legal fiction dreamed up by and for the benefit of old old men with powdered wigs and bad teeth and a penchant for raping their servants, and if enough of us decide we don't want to do it any more, we can bring it to a screeching, terminal halt. So we should. We are headed into an absolute shit-show anyway, the last thing we need is a fucking "property market". Fuck that. Let's render it irrelevant.
@3pl5356 ай бұрын
Not when we are in a housing crisis. You don't have the right to purchase land and do 'whatever you want' with it without consequence. Either rent it out to tenants or sell it, you can't just let it sit there. I remind you this problem will only get worse- people will continue to trespass unless landlords change their behavior
@nicktaylor52646 ай бұрын
@@3pl535 Yea - exactly, Imagine this is a food rather than a housing famine. What would we do to the people who were hoarding food so they could sell it at a profit so high it's literally destroying people's lives? What would we do to the people who were actually causing the famine by this behaviour? Would we wait for the law to do something? Don't think so. Then again, this is New Zealand, and the Prime Minister is literally one of these people. And he's just given a 3 billion tax-cut to landlord scum.... how's he paying for it? By cutting other programs, including school lunches for kids. Taking food away from kids to give to landlords. Well... not only is he a landlord (with 7 houses) himself, his campaign finance was paid for by the real-estate sector. I won't call it the "real estate industry", because it's less of an industry and more of a legalised extortion racket which is the #1 driver of poverty (the worst form of violence) not just in NZ, but pretty much everywhere in the world. So "They own the land"... . yea, fuck you. The only own the land because we've all been duped in to agreeing to it. We out number these parasites 10 to 1

Planning Permission Expiry Dates and Ballifs? Council Security drive by's with Google Earth mapping station on the roof? Neighbourhood Watch? Assume that power & water use trial didn't work given the nearly 10 years these properties a have been vacant? Who's mowing their lawns? I'm really pissed at Australia right now. The obscene amount of "gimme gimme" and "you're not taking my taxpayer funded subsidies/concessions" is just so stupid knowing they are 😵 pretty soon. They'd rather sit and watch as families and children get evicted from mortgages or rental while they suck off our t#ts. I'm ready to march.
