I’ve read other books and talked to people from other countries and what they learn compared to Americans is pretty different and some have said they have learned this while we learn one specific part in history and it pushes a narrative in my opinion instead of showing us where people came from where this all came from and how it started they just teach us what they want us to know and nothing more. As someone who has family that came from Ireland and Scotland it’s kind of crazy to hear about all of this for the first time.

The Patrick comment is to point out the discrimination against Irish people at that time… Edward is a British name so there was lots of people named Edward at the college but not everyone has those two names…

"Cracker" is an extremely old word. Even William Shakespeare used it!

Much of his style of English is similar to cracker English and culture. His subjects as well, "Romeo & Juliet" for example. Violence, love, perceived disrespect. Hamlet as well.
