Abba name of the game music video reaction. The Swedish group were one of the biggest bands around in the 70s and early 80s with a string of Number one albums and singles.
The four members were also married to each other.
A fact that became many hit songs when things went sour later.
Enjoy this Abba Name of the game reaction.

Just notice how complex the song is: - verses: harmonies - pre-chorus: Agnetha solo - chorus: lead harmonies and backing harmonies - post-chorus: Frida solo - bridge: harmonies Each time a different melody. A master class in song writing.

I couldn’t agree more. The song grows in intensity, energy, emotion all the way through! Brilliant. And I love how they sing back to each other, line by line in the final chorus. :-)

They really wrote some amazing songs. Both catchy and hooky, but also complex and sophisticated. In the same song.

I used to say, there's enough "guts" in this one song to fill one side of the average indie album.

I tend to forget this song, but it's actually one of their best. The complex structure, the different sequences, and the fact that Anni-Frid and Agnetha take turns doing the lead vocals, which makes you appreciate their different vocal qualities, it's just so great! I also love the video, though they are picking their noses a lot, LOL, very 70's.

Harry, how nice to see you at the beginning of the weekend and with an extraordinary song by ABBA, which has many peculiarities: 1) I think it's the first in which each of the girls sings a verse as lead voice 2) the video was recorded at Agnetha and Björn's home, because Agnetha was very late in her second pregnancy (that's why maybe she's sitting and cared for in the picture) 3) "The name of the game" was released in 1977, a month before "ABBA The Album" and the movie "ABBA The Movie" It was a bold gamble from ABBA, it opened their horizons and spread beyond pop. You have already heard songs from that album, ABBA's most versatile: Thank you for the music Take a chance on me The name of the game they are all different and bright, and there are many more: the fantastic "Eagle" of almost 6 minutes that opens the album and the most surprising rock piece "Hole in your soul" (live in London 1979 in continued with "Does your mother know" are in the best 8 minutes that I heard in music) I recommend them, both are unmissable, believe me I follow you in your videos sharing the passion for ABBA's music A big hug from Buenos Aires, Argentina

Have i missed something here guys?I never said it wasnt a great song.I.said it was different but i liked it..I said i loved that back beat that made it funky and different. And someone has just said it was sampled by some rappers..and im not surprised cos that back beat was so funky. But Tero maybe what you in particular mean is,i have to listen to it many times to see its Abba's best song.

The song has complex structure and the backing track is full of small things. And yes, I think the more you hear this fantastic song the more you like it. It is not a cannonball like Gimme Gimme Gimme. You have to find the quality yourself, it is not delivered on a silver plate for free. Sorry my bad english. 🤪

That was always a very special song by ABBA to me. Very interesting. 4 weeks at no.1 in the UK. It was sampled in 1996 by the Fugees for their hit "Rumble in the Jungle", the first time that an ABBA song had been legally sampled by another act.

I always remember this song when it came out in '76, as having a slight sombre feel to it, but at the same time, more than a touch of optimism. Someone within a relationship who wants to know more about how their partner feels about them, what with all the questions being asked within the song. But, it has an overall, positive vibe rather than a critical one. The sombre feeling comes from the slight dash of doubt/concern that goes along with it. A great song, of course.

The game was called "Fia med knuff" in swedish. "med knuff" - with shove (or push), because when you landed on the same spot as another player they got shoved/pushed back in their nest.
