Caution: aK saying, ‘Love is the RESULT of misunderstanding.’ While misunderstood, loved. While understood, forgiven and perhaps forgotten.. aK does not say that, while u misunderstand u love-not necessarily, for attraction be the primary natural trigger not decoding. Nor says that must be: misunderstood and understood in temporal sequence. Most often, whom is misunderstood remain so; and too whom understood remain. That, nowadays ppl get together and soon separated per what norm, don’t imply that they were ‘misunderstood and then understood’-only that there were causes for the former and reasons for the latter.

I think that it's easy to misunderstand what he said. In my opinion , what he means is that romantic love , the feeling when you first meet someone and fall in love with them is the result of misunderstanding. When you can see no flaw in the other person and you feel that extreme passion , admiration and possessiveness you have not known them as you should in order to deeply and sincerely love them , not just be in love with them. As time goes by and we see things that annoy us in the other person and we realise they're as human as we are , which we hadn't fully grasped early on , that's the point where being in love either transforms into true lasting love or fades away. I believe mister Kiarostami refers to the phenomenon of "being in love" as a result of misunderstanding , rather than the state of "love".

He is right... When we don't understand someone we fell in love with them. And then when we started to truly understand/know them we fell out of love.
