"... and, most importantly, very low in pleasure" - I loved this conclusion, Abbey! You nailed it again. I can't understand how people completely forgo the pleasure factor of meals when they devise (or worse - advise) a meal plan. We have the senses, we have the great reason to break a day into chunks with the food serving as this little island of pleasurable rest. Honestly, food is such an easy source of entertainment, rest, fun, yum... to forgo it would be a total misunderstanding of purpose of life. I mean... of course there are politicians and scientists and engineers and artists out there who find most joy in their work, but hey, even they would probably feel deprived if they were to only consume "healthy calories in a tube". Anyway, I loved your "versions" of the meals and snacks. Satisfaction and enjoyment is key!

Pleasure means different things to different people. You might not enjoy the things Kelly does, but if she has eaten them consistently she may enjoy it. I personally love avocado and gain a lot of happiness when I eat it. Abbey’s version is fine for her, but I don’t think she would eat this consistently unlike Kelly who does. I think Abbey did to much for one day of food. I am active. I work in the health industry and I coach sports. I’m 5’2 and even I can’t eat as much daily as Abbey portrays here or I would be fat. And no you don’t need a lot of protein after doing cardio. Cardio main fuel is oxygen (aerobic capacity). Strength training is different. When Kelly says she works out everyday. I don’t believe she is saying she is lifting daily. Cardio can be done daily. She could mean every day she does something not that’s it’s always an intense workout.

I am so happy I found your videos. I have leukemia since I was 14 (now 35). The first medication I was on affected my appetite. And I lost a lot of weight. I have always been tiny but I went from 95 to 60. My doctor had me meet with a nutritionist and I was prescribed a weight gaining shake. Even though my medication was the reason for my lost in weight I at the time was a vegetarian and experienced a lot of guilt eating different foods. Looking back I wasn't eating enough veggies or protein. Years later I am a healthy weight and on a different medication but over the years I have struggled with overthinking what I eat. A few years back I got my wisdom teeth out and I found this girl online who only ate blended raw food. I thought that's what I needed to do not just while recovering from my surgery but after. I'm so happy I realized how wrong her diet was. I would consider myself now pretty healthy and to have a healthy relationship with food but I definitely struggle eating enough protein and greens. I have a major sweet tooth too ... But I do worry that I'm not eating correctly. Diabetes runs in my family and that kind of scares me. Your videos have encouraged me to not shame myself and not overthink everything I put in my mouth. You have taught me that it's okay to have "bad foods" and that eating healthy is more about variety and adding not subtracting. Thank you!

idk if Kelley is neurodivergent but its super common for neurodivergent people to hyperfixate on a food. I've personally been eating homemade ramen for the past 6 months and there was a full year I only ate quinoa for lunch (either instead of rice, in a salad, a variety but always quinoa). One full year I ate pineapple as dessert every meal. I just tend to hyperfixate on one food and its a common trait so I don't think its that weird that she at mostly avocado toast for 2 years

I think it’s important to remember that Kelly is quite short and petite so her appetite would naturally be different than the average persons. Not saying it’s still adequate just that you can’t expect people to eat the same portions as each other. Like I’m really small and I love food but if I was to eat the same portions as Abbey’s videos I’d be so uncomfortably full!! It’s simply just too much food for someone like me! I’d definitely balloon

I agree, I am an average height lady, little curvy but I've always been a snacker and I find people often comment on how little my portions are when eating dinner out. I have this reflex now were I just comment "I'll be snacking later"or "well I always have room for dessert" and I've often thought Abbys portions would make me so uncomfortably full. I guess were all different and I wish portion sizes shouldn't be judged

That oatmeal bowl looks 🔥 It’s okay that I use whole milk and regular (natural) peanut butter for my oats though, right? I notice a lot of health influencers use almond butter and nut milks but I cling to my childhood staples… which are also more affordable at my grocery store. But is there really much of a difference between almond butter and peanut butter? It’s 100% peanuts so there’s no sugar or oil added to the brand I buy.
@charisnixon2124
@charisnixon2124 2 жыл бұрын
I know this question is for Abbey but here is what I think her answer would be based on what I’ve seen her say in the past: Peanut butter has more saturated fat than other nut butters, which is why it is seen as a “less healthy” option. However, there is nothing wrong with eating peanut butter with your breakfast if you just like the taste better.

Hi there, as a lactose intolerant person who won't tolerate the taste of milk alternatives 😂, I would recommend also adding a little water to the milk to help cut how much you are using. Adjust to your taste of course, but just a little water to cut some milk goes further than whole milk alone. Hope this helps.

It's a bit more saturated fat, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you go for more healthy fats at other meals. You could always do 2% milk instead of whole if you think your saturated fat is too high. Still tastes way better than plant milks in my humble opinion. I haven't found a convincing milk alternative (and I've tried MANY) so now I just accept that milk will always be a staple in my house.

Some people have a certain list of foods that they stick to because that’s their favorite things & good for Kelly for making those choices healthy! Everyone is different and I don’t see anything wrong with her diet, it’s a lot healthier and sustainable than MANY other celebrities I’ve seen! I could actually eat like Kelly every single day, with the exception of having more than a handful of nuts at a time and adding some more sweet things here and there. But overall, her diet is WAY better than the average American diet with fast food and processed everything! She does need to stay fit for her career as well… personally, i wouldn’t critique her diet at all, especially if she’s satisfied and happy with it. She seems like someone who eats to live, not someone who lives to eat and I get that. I would probably have to make myself eat breakfast because I’ve never really had an appetite in the mornings (with the exception of when I’ve been pregnant) 😆 as with anything, one size doesn’t fit all. Additionally, I would definitely choose Kelly’s diet over an expensive protein shake powder and overpriced cup! 😏

First let me say bravo on tackling K.R diet..etc. your recipes / approach on food and nutrition is refreshing and might I had looks absolutely delicious.! My quick back story so I grew up watching All My Children with my mom. I remember seeing K.R and what her body type looked like in its “natural” form. As well as when she began her popular talk show..So every time I tune in, i’m always amazed by how tiny she is and stays with no fluctuations. In my mind I truly believe she had some type of sleeve or surgery, but that’s solely my opinion. I think she isn’t honest with the public about her weight because she simply likes the attention. Frankly it’s frowned upon in Hollywood to be HONEST about weight loss unfortunately. I am a professional dancer and see all body types around me. I knw what real healthy weight loss looks like and other forms. The only thing I’m most concerned about is being healthy mentally and physically, when you drop weight or slim down. So here’s the issue I see with this video. Kelly Ripa is like 4’11 this lady is obviously very tall as she said her “Big girl appetite”. Being very small myself I would definitely do Kelly’s meal and not this because I’d be huge. So please take what’s best for you not everyone should be the same. I feel like she’s attacking Kelly’s diet because she gets attention. Anyones that’s 5ft and below knows that you need to eat petite to stay healthy weight. So take this with a grain of salt. I don’t believe anything this lady says… I think this lady needs to realize height plays a huge difference. Hence why most models are tall… being smaller we work harder to stay thin.. so please don’t assume every diet works for everyone. I have friends that do weight watchers and it works, some it doesn’t, some keto, and some paleo, some high carb it depends on the person.

I'm glad to see you add more protein. Just hearing Kelly describe her diet makes me hungry! There's no way I could eat like that every day and still function. I do wonder when celebrities describe their diets if they are describing what they think they "should" eat rather than what they actually eat.

Love this! Can you do Lean Beef Patty’s? I know you reviewed her diet recently, but mentioned she could add in some more fats. For weight lifters (particularly women) , it’s hard to find ANYONE out there who will recommend anything but a low fat diet; as if any additional fats will torpedo results!

Love the respect and ideas :) I remember watching it and hearing her say it's just easier to stay on track. But she's not a monster lol she will have a piece of cake on her birthday. She's on her track and definitely strong and fit and very beautiful.. at the end of the day hopefully she truly does feel good. I love Abbey's approach because i think it's the best of both worlds.. if you want a treat have one but be an adult about it :) :) Get the nutrition in as well because you'll feel a lot better.

Hi Abbey! I would love to hear your thoughts on full fat vs. non fat dairy. I eat non fat plain Greek Yogurt, but I’m confused on if I should switch over to full fat. I’m nervous about gaining weight by this move. I feel like there is so much misconception around this subject. Love your channel!

Hey, I'm not Abbey, but I remember her talking about full fat vs non fat. She said that when dairy products are processed to have less fat, they usually have to mix in more sugar. So your low fat yogurt has more sugar than a full fat one. Just switch over to full fat, you probably won't gain weight

I remember the struggle through my almost ED, very disordered eating. Always hungry, always thinking about food. Looking at snacks at the grocery store & talking myself out of them. Every day! I’m around the same age as KR. I remember her definitely being much thicker ( not fat!) when she was a teen on Dance Party USA. Having said that, I’m sure it’s a daily struggle to be as thin as she is for years!!

If people could understand that there is no serving size in Europe. That everything is based off of 100 grams. But many foods you would never eat 100 grams of at a time or on the flip side you would always eat way more

There are vegan cream cheeses if you want to do that with avocado toast, or any other cream cheese thing. I was wondering though what is zatar? Abby's diet looks a lot more balanced and I can see why she used Kelly Ripa circa 2020 as a what not to do; though I do think it was in poor taste since Kelly's team obviously doesn't want this interview circulating. Hopefully the reason they don't want it circulating is because Kelly eats more like Abby does now. PS I'm a huge Kelly fan, have been since All My children. But her 20/20 diet would make me collapse
