SPAGHETTI SQUASH PAD THAI
(WHAT YOU NEED)
(Pad Thai)
1 spaghetti squash, halved and cooked
Cooking spray
1 tbsp minced garlic
8 oz uncooked chicken / shrimp / or tofu, diced
2 whole eggs*
2 cups fresh bean sprouts
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 carrot, thinly sliced or spiralized
½ cup dry roasted peanuts, chopped
2 limes, cut into quarters
Cilantro, for garnish
Green onions, for garnish
Cooking spray, as needed
(Sauce)
3 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp sriracha sauce, or as desired
¼ cup honey
4-6 tbsp powdered peanut butter
(WHAT TO DO)
1-Heat cooking oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat.
3-Add chicken / shrimp / or tofu, minced garlic, bell pepper, and carrot. Stirring ingredients until fully cooked and veggies have just softened.
4-While pad thai ingredients are cooking, combine the sauce ingredients by hand or using a blender and set aside.
5-Remove pan from heat, draining excess liquid as needed, then return to medium-low heat. Push ingredients to one side, adding cooking spray as needed, then add eggs (or extra firm tofu) to the pan. Scrambling until fully cooked and broken up into little pieces.
6-Stir together all ingredients, then add cooked noodles, sauce, bean sprouts, and peanuts to the pan - saving some peanuts for garnish. Toss mixture until fully combined.
7-Remove from heat and serve with lime, cilantro, green onions, and peanuts as garnish.
*NOTE: for a vegan swap, substitute 2-4 oz of extra firm tofu for whole eggs or omit entirely.

BROWNIE MUG CAKE
(WHAT YOU NEED)
1 scoop chocolate protein powder*
1 whole egg**
1 tbsp coconut flour
2 tbsp sweetener of choice (I use stevia baking blend)
1 tsp baking powder
1-2 tbsp cocoa powder*
1/4 cup milk of choice (I use almond milk)
Cooking spray of choice
(WHAT TO DO)
1-Combine all ingredients until smooth.
2-Cooking spray a mug, then pour in mug cake mixture.
3-Microwave on 50% power for 2 minutes, checking, then returning to microwave in 1 minute increments (still at 50% power) until center is just set.
This recipe tastes WAYYYY better with ice cream or something to help moisten it up, so you may need to experiment!
*NOTE: if using vanilla protein powder, use an extra 1 tbsp of cocoa powder
**NOTE: fo a vegan swap, use a flax egg of 1 tbsp ground flax + 3 tbsp water

I have really noticed the super low cal high volume foods still leave me wanting to binge on unhealthy foods because I’m not truly satisfied. Mixing high volume with actually satiating foods is so much more sustainable in my experience. Good cooking techniques can make so many foods still healthy and taste amazing 😛

Ok, moderation is definitely where I'm at right now. Learning to enjoy smaller portions and still being in a calorie deficit isn't as hard as it seems. I don't need to be stuffed to be satisfied. Thank you Abby for all of your quality information ❤

I’ve learned that restricting leads to binging for me, so I do smaller portions and eat high protein every meal. It’s helped a lot and I still get the food I love without gaining loads of weight. Should be seen as a lifestyle not a diet, do something you can stick to is key.

I cannot explain just how much your videos help me on a DAILY! A year or so ago, I was one of those people who didn’t truly understand the concept of health and fitness and wellness. I was so toxic with my relationship with both food and working out. Similarly to you, I only had calories on my mind. Calories in and out (mind you I didn’t even understand the equation) Your incredible videos (among other amazing youtubers) have helped me truly understand health and fitness and truly learn how to live food and love exercise as a way to be healthy and not skinny. Thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into these videos and thank you for helping out someone as lost as me ❤️❤️

Thanks so much for this, i initially lost 20lbs then reached a plateau and instead of thinking about things to do consistently i resulted in punishing myself more, fasting, running, higher intensity... and i got SO hungry!!! Thanks for this video. I am now seeing things a lot differently, putting me back into the right mindset!

I started intermittent fasting and it allowed me to stop snacking because that was really my issue....I also stopped eating more than I needed and cut back drastically on fast food (cheaper to make home cooked). I'm now over two years into this new lifestyle lost about 30lbs and at one point I got down to 122lbs (I wasnt trying to lose weight when I got to that weight. I increased my intake a bit because I didnt like how skinny my legs looked. I am active on the weekends.....1hour of uphill walking...my work doesnt make me really sedentary because I walk around and stand around sometimes and I wear 4inch heels...I have to go up four flights of stairs few times a day at work (definitely a work out). But I really want to train my muscles but want to get it done at home instead of the gym.

Thank you! My husband went out to get takeout last night and I wanted a grilled cheese and french fries but I asked for a garden salad instead. I woke up feeling great and my stomach was flat. It’s all about small lifestyle changes for sustainable weight loss :) Love you Abby

Maybe do both? That’s what ended up working for me. So if you want to eat a salad then add beans, brown rice and tuna to it and add some olive oil and hemp seeds and olives so you get a mix of high and low calorie foods. Another example would be to eat a burger with bun with salad instead of fries. Or 3 slices of pizza with a yummy salad. Whole eggs with toast and avocado /veggies. Basically combine high and low calorie foods. Don’t cut out either one of them.

I have to say that after restriction and low calorie diets my entire overweight life….I am at 46 living my dream. Keto did it for me. I eat one or two meals a day, lots of fat,protein, and vegetables. I don’t count calories. I do my weights( thanks to Abby) and move more. I think not being hungry worked for me. My rules are no bread, pasta, grain, chips, etc. personally as soon as I eat complex carbs, I crave more and more and more. Somehow I can have the occasional piece of cake or ice cream without feeling the need to binge🧐yeah Big salads, no processed foods, cooking all my meals, no snacks, lots of water. It’s awesomeness easier than I thought to be a healthy weight. Sounds lame but it really is a lifestyle.

@@AdayDr1en even if this were true, that's a BIG reason not to just recommend it to random people you don't know on the internet - these are long-term, damaging conditions. The people you're recommending it to might not know if they have health conditions (and I'm sceptical that this is the case, as studies show that kidney stones arise in children put on the diet for its original purpose, aka those with epilepsy)

Eating behaviors exist on a spectrum. Any form of eating that results in a detriment to mental or physical health could be considered disordered and so this will kinda depend on the person. For me, it definitely wasn’t healthy which is why I’m so grateful to be where I’m at now 💛
