The announcer voicing the intro to the Eyewitness News Brief is Bill Ward. He is perhaps better known for his voiceover work on rival station WJW. Wilma Smith moved from WEWS to WJW in 1994 and retired in 2013 after 19 years with that station. She is now the spokesperson for Discount Drug Mart.
