I remember when he passed. I was 11, it was a Thursday, and my mom told me before school. I didn’t react at all out of pure shock and sadness but my mom instantly noticed and suggested I stay home that day(completely out of character for her). I didn’t cry, didn’t do anything but stayed in bed and stared at the ceiling all day. Now as an adult I cry every time I think about Fred Rogers. Tremendous effect he had throughout my childhood. A pure beacon of love.

I was 10 when he passed. I remember like it was yesterday, It was 30 min before school and the news announced his death. I sobbed and cried on the way to school, in class, and for weeks. I'm 28 and I still fond myself crying when I see how bad the world has become.. I miss him.

I'm 38, you're never too old to watch him. When I was little, I saw it from a child's perspective.. and now it all makes sense watching at it at my age. lol I'm serious though. As adults we feel like there's something wrong with us at times or why we can't get things together or why this or that didn't happen, but if you just watch mr. Rogers you just know you're okay. I'll watch it with my 7 and four-year-old. It's timeless. 😊

18 years ago today. The first death anniversary without the Mrs. She died last month at 92. There are too many words to bear and many memories to cherish. The show lives on in reruns, and for that, we can all be grateful. Mr. and Mrs. Rogers, thank you for everything you’ve done to help us learn, grow, and heal. But most of all, thank you for teaching us to be ourselves. We liked you just the way the both of you were. May you both be reunited as you, Mrs. Rogers, begin your new life in God’s Heavenly neighborhood, forever and ever.

After his death, I read the few books he wrote and I listened to the music he recorded of his famous songs that he sang on TV. Every once in a while, I go back and listen to his music and watch some shows online. I've also watched the 2018 documentary several times. He left a beautiful legacy.

What is so horrible is that February 27th is my birthday (February 27th,1975). I couldn't believe it when I turned on my computer 💻 that morning and seen on AOL the news "Goodbye Neighbor". I was just shocked and I then read the article and printed out two copies on the printer 🖨️. My wife Janet who died this past January left me alone. She knew that i was upset 😭. I choked up 😭 and said,"He was just a nice man who only wanted what was best for you." I then got myself together and said,"Hey it's your birthday 🎁🎂. You gotta go on." My wife and her daughter made derogatory remarks about Mister Rogers once and I scolded them. Well on a few occasions we have watched some reruns of Mister Rogers neighborhood on public television since then.
