@@3th4nP31ff3r And if you're already stopped in the left turn lane or at a red light? I mean, I agree with you I thought it best to stay still and let the ambulance go around us by driving into oncoming traffic and around the cars stopped at the light. But when an ambulance doesn't do that and instead pulls up behind you and blares it's horn, I personally got the impression that he REALLY wanted me to drive through that red light to get off to the side. But again, the "sometimes it's okay to run a red light" lesson was never explained to us in drivers ed class. IDK, maybe there are different rules for situations like this depending on how much traffic there is? (There wasn't much btw. So it was totally safe, just technically illegal.) Or maybe I just got a really inexperienced ambulance driver? Also, I thought emergency vehicles were supposed to have some sort of infrared/ultraviolet strobe light that turns traffic signals green in their direction? But that didn't happen that day. I'm just saying there was a lot they didn't cover in drivers ed.

In Puerto Rico an ambulance was transporting a patient to hospital when a car was in front of the ambulance deliberately slowing it down. Unfortunately the patient died from the delay of getting to hospital. The driver of the car went home to discover that his mother had a heart attack and was taken to hospital. At Centro Medico Police were investigating the Ambulance Driver's complaint that he was deliberately blocked from getting to hospital. The driver got home and found out that his mother had a heart attack and was taken to hospital. He immediately went to hospital. The Paramedics had his license plate number. The man asked about his mother and was told that she died. The Paramedics told him that they were blocked from getting to hospital by a stupid driver. The Highway Patrol Officer was outside of hospital emergency room and noticed the License plate number. He announced over the PA system for the owner of the car to come to registration desk. The man reported to the officer who told him his car was the car that blocked the ambulance from getting to hospital. He was arrested for Manslaughter of his own mother. So the lesson learned is that you don't know who is in the Ambulance or waiting for the ambulance. He caused his own mother's death by delaying the Ambulance. Can you imagine a person blocking a fire apparatus to only discover that it was responding to their house and the entire family died from his stupidity?

I worked for an ambulance company back in the mid 70’s and one of my co-workers was killed by a girl that ran an intersection because she had her radio on so loud she couldn’t hear the siren. Rest In Peace Donnie. Oh by the way it was in Clearwater,Fla too!

I remember an incident I read about a little boy who stopped breathing, his mother called for paramedics and they hadn’t arrived, she said she waited 5 minutes and she was panicking she wanted help fast and didn’t want to wait so she carried her son and decided to walk several blocks to a nearby hospital. It was so sad the little boy had died in her arms and she blamed the emergency responders for her son’s death coz help came late, they said she wasn’t supposed to leave in the first place coz they wouldn’t know where to find her when they had arrived. and now that I see this video of assholes not letting fire trucks through coz usually fire trucks come first in an emergency before the ambulance it made me wonder how many idiot disrespectful drivers the fire truck had to zig zag through before arriving at the mother’s house.

I always slowdown and pull over to let them pass me. I have a lot of respect for them.
