Because they still want the economy to make money. Realistically if they halted the production of every building that broke violations a least a quarter of the restaurants in America would be out of business. Losing the country billions of dollars of tax revenue. So they just basically go in and say they need to fix it rather than shutting them down. Unless of course the restaurant has done some VERRY HORRID practices.

Dan is incorrect. Every place doesnt have violations. My husband works as a health inspector and there are plenty of places that pass with flying colors during every inspection. As a matter of fact, my husband only allows us to eat at places he know has been spotless during his time as inspector and places he have walked through.

I just literally walked out and quit after working at the golden corral for about a month. This video was posted less than a year ago and as an employee I can say not only have I been sick from eating there, but the restaurant is filthy and disgusting! On a side note, the "General Manager" you see walking the film crew out has me in contact with my Attorney along with As many local news stations and the county health department! I highly suggest to all to avoid eating here at all costs as it may be an inexpensive dinner BUT it will coat you and your loved ones much more in the event they fall ill as myself and many others have INCLUDING their brand new "Assistant Manager," as she told me such today. Please heed with caution local Pinellas County Residents!!!

18 years in the restaurant business i never been written up once, but every year the inspector and his family get a free paid vacation, no restaurants in the world can pass their inspections, your own home kitchen will not even pass their inspections. If you have an envelope ready the inspection will go smoothly, if not you're in a no win situation.

Disappointing to hear this about Yummy House.I'm not surprised though about the Subway in St Pete Bch. It was a disgusting experience eating there years ago.The employees back then that were a couple of young people that had apparently been in the back room engaging in certain unmentionable activities.They made us wait a long time before coming out from the back and they appeared dirty, dishevelved and rude.The sub that we had ordered had to be thrown out it was that bad.We never went back.

These violations in restaurants just seem like there are so many easy fixes and easy prevention measures that keep these places could do. It is just bad management. It is not impossible to keep kitchens and bathrooms clean. Doesn't take rocket science to dedicate at least 1-2 employees to keeping a place clean. Managements fault.

How many times does a restaurant have to fail health inspections and fail to fix violations/repeat them before being shut down permanently? If anyone is curious; restaurant health inspections are public record atleast in pinellas county, I don’t know about other counties I’m guessing it’s all the same I went down a rabbit hole recently going through some of the worst inspection reports for pinellas and it’s insane that some of these places are allowed to reopen, after multiple repeat violations, fines, emergency shut downs, stop sales on food, pest infestations, flys, mice, rats, roaches, poop in food prepping areas, found in food at some places, it’s literally vile makes me second guess ever eating out again 😳😭

All this stuff is generally standard operating procedure from dive bar kitchens to fast food chains to sushi joints to buffets that are barely distinguishable from animal feed lots, like the Golden Corral. It's maybe 40% of why I rarely eat at restaurants. The other 60% is more the fact that the stuff is poison and I wouldn't eat it even in the most sanitary conditions. That's where I like "more protein" guy, at least he isn't lying to himself, he knows he's eating shit, he just doesn't care.

Golden Corrals are great. Wish we had one. Go at 1030. Never get the seafood, chicken nor turkey at Subway. Get the Cold Cut Combo, Veggie or Tuna. I can't eat Chinese food anymore because I get grossed thinking it's cat or dog meat. The texture of the meat is odd. Something just ain't right.

I like eating in newly build restaurants. I usually stop eating after a month or two the time it was built coz that's usually when they slack and deterioration of cleaning. Other old looking restaurants is a pass for me unless if I know there kitchens are clean and well kept
