Her candor is refreshing. Her words are unfiltered and organic. She's touched my heart with 'I Feel Good.' And I smile remembering the times I'd mimic her choreography while watching 'Puttin' a Rush On Me' on Video Soul. That black body suit was everything. Stephanie had arrived.

I can imagine many women can testify to Ms. Mills comment that she never experienced the type of love from a man that she sang about. The dream doesn't always match the reality of our lives.
@jeanettesdaughter
@jeanettesdaughter Жыл бұрын
She is not alone in that. A lot of us , fine, deserving women NEVER experience that kind of unconditional, totally supportive love from a man. If we didn’t get it in the fatherly realm from decent protective fathers in the home; we learn as I did through trial and error. Fortunately, I have had the other parental love of a good mother, the filial love and respect of friends including men with whom I have not had a romantic relationship, and my lovely young children. But friends go away; parents leave us and children, too. Not to have that loyal and loving support - well, it’s missed. ButI Like what she says she says about loving anyway, having compassion and knowing how to love. There’s greatness in that. And a lesson for women who settle. Don’t! Know your worth.

I just love Stephanie Mills and am so glad to see her getting some fresh recognition and appreciation. She is a powerhouse who has so much more to say and share with the world. For decades, she has been one of my favorite voices and I know I am not alone in that. It's very honest for her to say that she's never known that special kind of love from a man; I could say the same. I think some of us have a path to walk alone that allows us to get to know ourselves and experience the world in ways we couldn't if we had a significant other. Thank you Stephanie Mills for your amazing career and for this honest interview. 🧡💐

She said the industry treats you like a dollar sign… uh that’s what ALL jobs do… if you love it one shouldn’t focus on the money. Entertainers get paid too much anyway if it’s something they’re supposed to love. Wish I loved what I do AND get paid as much as they do. Seems like everybody complains after it becomes a JOB.
@stephaniemills_fanpage
@stephaniemills_fanpage Жыл бұрын
If you actually listened to what she said you’d get it, it’s not about the money working wise. In the industry it’s always more than what’s led on vs a regular working job. It’s so many scandals that go on in the industry. Also Many “entertainers” get paid little to nothing! You could be doing a Sold Out tour and still make no money! That’s how the business side of the industry works, it’s so much deeper.
