@@DesertPrimrose this isn’t a valid criticism for a massive platform that has an incredibly large range of topics that are being discussed. It isn’t just TikTok challenges, skits and dances, most of it is just people talking about their interests, ideas, and opinions. And the algorithm only brings you the sort of stuff you’re watching, commenting on and liking. If you’re only getting tiktoks of teen girls dancing then that’s a you problem, not tiktok. Most tiktok users have literally never seen tiktoks of teens dancing on their FYP.

I only personally support and view influencers that keep their children out from in front of the camera. In my heartfelt opinion, it’s one thing to creatively express yourself and your interests, or share your skills and teach others…even share your homemaking and (carefully) display your personal design in it, but children should be left out of it until they are 18 and can legally choose to be in or out of being on display for billions of people around the globe. Especially with the predatory nature of many humans that could be a legitimate threat to their safety. I’m SEVERELY concerned for these children.

Some people may be able to handle things such as this better than me, but for me personally I had to stop watching some of the creators I followed prior to becoming a mother because the expectations they had created in my mind nearly drove me insane. I expected to lose weight more quickly postpartum, and these people made motherhood look easy. Saying things like “My baby is only four weeks old but she already sleeps all night..” I had zero experience with children and no friends who were mothers. All I knew was what the internet showed me. I thought I was doing everything wrong, but it was just reality!

We make covenants to have NO sexual relations outside of marriage. It’s a serious sin. No man can serve two masters. Soft porn doesn’t belong in Heaven, soft swinging certainly doesn’t either. If you’re ever being persuaded or convinced to dip your toe into something, just consider the consequences if you jump in. If that’s not okay, neither is dipping an inch. - This advice applies to more than members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Ask if Jesus would do it. Ask if your language, behavior or media belongs in Heaven. If you’d like to BE in Heaven, you must strive to be purified and sanctified through Christ. No unclean thing can dwell in His presence. - A “little” sin doesn’t exist.

The women shown in these clips do not present as church-going Latter-Day Saint women. It's like showing someone in a football uniform and talking about their performance on the soccer field. Trying to link these women to the advice of a Church leader like President Ballard (RIP, Brother) is a really disingenuous act on the part of a news outlet well-known for their opposition to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

If they specifically ask to be in a video, fine, but make sure it's kid friendly and you aren't parading your kid around in costumes meant for adults (like those child pageant people).
