@@robinhawkins3801 If I am paying your medical bills, I do have the right. If you are on government insurance, the taxpayers have every right to complain. If you are on private, employer-subsidized insurance, your employer and the coworkers, who are also in the same group plan, have every right to complain. Unless you are paying for all your medical care out of your own income (that means you are "self-insured,") what you eat is somebody else's business

We need more MEDIUM SIZE representation! The media, as well as clothing stores, seem to be glorifying either super small sizes or sizes on the larger end. Ofc everyone needs to see themselves, but I can't help but feel it's always to the extremes.

I agree! It’s like being stick thin is unattainable for most of us but we’re not obese. But media makes us think that if you are not constantly chasing thinness, the only other option is being a plus sized sassy queen. Most of us are not on either extreme

There is more than one way to be unhealthy. Obesity and diabetes is one the rise. I am diabetic myself...and I definitely had an almond mom when I was a teen but I know she was just trying to help me. Anorexia is a thing too. Everything in life is about balance.

Thats how my ED came to be. I refused to eat unhealthy foods. Resulted in me severely undereating. I eat like a toddler and only drink liquids half the day. There wasnt a 'breakfast lunch dinner' bur coffee protein shake and a evening meal that wasnt much of a meal.

Being healthy is important. And health only comes with balance. Almond moms go too far. So can snack moms. If you are making healthy choices more often or not and you feel good, then you are probably doing fine.

Heres my opinion: eating heart healthy protein, steamed vegetables, and a simple grain, but once a week eating unhealthy food, I feel better. I have hypertension from anxiety but other than that, the doctors have said I'm fine (but hypertension comes with risks as well). Also stay hydrated with plenty of water (water can also reduce hunger and lower blood pressure) do what you can and also get creative in your diet

Developing healthy habits early is a good thing, too many obese people in this world now, I think eating Almonds, Greens, protein and healthy oils is better than a household filled with Canola Oil chips, sugary drinks and other processed foods, when I’m at checkout at the grocery store I get so grossed out with how much fake food people pile on at checkout

its not about ridiculing other people;,it is about mothers being aggressive about what their children eat in a society which is promoting unhealthy food choices. Obesity increases the risk of every imaginable deadly illness: notably heart disease which kills 21.8% of women. Next on the death list is cancer taking 20.7% Stroke takes 6.2% and diabetes 2.7% Obesity increases the risk of heart disease by 28% It increases the risk pf pre-menopausal breast cancer by 80% As for Type 2 diabetes, I have found sources estimating the increase in risk caused by obesity to be anywhere from 300 to 600 percent. Obesity is a death sentence. My daughter had aggressive bilateral breast cancer at 30, the first person in either side of the family to get it. While she survived, she was left unable to bear children. Don't let it happen to yours!

"bought into diet culture???" Have you looked around? I am horrified by the sight of obese children! If you are piling on the pounds before you hit puberty, what is your life going to be like when you hit menopause (if you even live that long?) No matter hpw hard I tried, my daughter was overweight very young. At age 30 she was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer, the very first person on either side of the family tree to get it. She wasnt even due for her first routine mammogram for another 10 years! Wake up! The almond moms are RIGHT!!!
