@@sariew8853 this isn’t a valid criticism for a massive platform that has an incredibly large range of topics that are being discussed. It isn’t just TikTok challenges, skits and dances, most of it is just people talking about their interests, ideas, and opinions. And the algorithm only brings you the sort of stuff you’re watching, commenting on and liking. If you’re only getting tiktoks of teen girls dancing then that’s a you problem, not tiktok. Most tiktok users have literally never seen tiktoks of teens dancing on their FYP.

I only personally support and view influencers that keep their children out from in front of the camera. In my heartfelt opinion, it’s one thing to creatively express yourself and your interests, or share your skills and teach others…even share your homemaking and (carefully) display your personal design in it, but children should be left out of it until they are 18 and can legally choose to be in or out of being on display for billions of people around the globe. Especially with the predatory nature of many humans that could be a legitimate threat to their safety. I’m SEVERELY concerned for these children.

Some people may be able to handle things such as this better than me, but for me personally I had to stop watching some of the creators I followed prior to becoming a mother because the expectations they had created in my mind nearly drove me insane. I expected to lose weight more quickly postpartum, and these people made motherhood look easy. Saying things like “My baby is only four weeks old but she already sleeps all night..” I had zero experience with children and no friends who were mothers. All I knew was what the internet showed me. I thought I was doing everything wrong, but it was just reality!

The women shown in these clips do not present as church-going Latter-Day Saint women. It's like showing someone in a football uniform and talking about their performance on the soccer field. Utah Mormons are incredibly white. 84% of all Mormons are white. The church doesn’t mind as long as they are not promoting sins (sex before marriage or LGBTQ rights) and paying their tithes. They make big money off rich influencers tithing.

I can't read. In the past people would travel and then write books. so someone like Earnest Hemingway would travel and where he was at he would make observation that he would use in his novels. the traveling and resultant work is slow. Or someone like escher traveled to spain and was inspired by muslim art to make the repeating animal patterns. Isaac albeniz did that and learned spanish guitar music and composed piano pieces from it. People are burning gas and just taking a photograph or something stupid. that's why anthony bourdain killed himself. because he saw what he was doing is crazy. he started doing overnight stuff. All of the cooking shows used to be kind of travel shows. but they would cook the meal and go through each part of the meal. details on each ingredient. detail the equipment for preparation of the food. detail the methods used to prepare the food. Then you pretend to need faster cars and faster phones, and you don't because nobody cares what you're doing. I can't even read anymore. I didn't even write this because I can't read.
