I think first thing people and media have to understand and draw the line about what is “free speech“…. Is it include “free to lies”, “free to bully”, “free to insult“, “free to joke” or “free to confuse others “ etc….

@@DD-kx1oz Don't mind Trill; they're one of the most prolific resident cookers in this comment section. Trill's main hobby is the attempt to import US American culture-war buzzwords to Australia. Sometime they forget to take the tags and flags off though... It should be noted that the original comment implies, quite accurately, that there is an acceptable level of reality that Trill is willing to face.

So many Australians are ignorant, uncaring, or completely uncaring about how coloured prople, both indigenous and migrant, have, and are, treated. Why ? Because white, Anglo -Celts invaded the continent, ravaged it, and continue to do so. My great - grandfather, from the Punjab ( look it up if you’ve not a clue what or where it is ), a black man who successfully migrated to Queensland JUST prior to the appearance of Federation’s White Australia Policy ( breathlessly slammed into place as one of the Commonwealth’s primary policies upon ‘ independent ‘ status ) had to issue a fingerprinted , pleading letter to the authorities to be able to return from India from a funeral. All account of colour. Regardless of his legally valid status, and the father of a large number of Queensland -born children.

Why does changing a book remove the existence of the old versions? Gigi talks about historians not being able to follow change in society if we change books, but it's the opposite. Changing books is actually a perfect experiment to view the society of the time. Comparing the original to the changed version let's you make assumptions about the society that made those changes.

Of corse people in sports and the media ie acting and singing should be able to express their opinions publicly they are humans after all and their opinions are no more valid or invalid then anyone elses other than how much theyre opinions are inline with facts, the only caveot I'd give is people in the media within the news but even then it's not just as simple as no or yes they shouldn't be allowed to share their opinions like all things I think the issue is very nuanced

@17:25 she switches from her original question of wanting to have an arts degree, and Billy talking about the benefit of the arts, to suddenly saying she wants to be a teacher because the country needs more teachers. Comes off as disingenuous. I worked my way through QUT, and student fees aren't an immediate impact as they go to HECS, so aren't impacting you while you study - which seems to be her complaint - but rather later, so I don't have much sympathy I'm afraid. I'm also glad they still have the program to waive the HECS debt of teachers that commit to teach in regional and rural communities.
