Don’t understand why the comments are so harsh, he’s just showing off existing features and how they could be used to sketch an idea. If people don’t like the features then don’t have to use them in their own compositions, simple as that. Great and informative video!

If that's "Easy Mode", I give up. Just play the line..

This just a different way of looking at it, maybe you can use it if have played all the lines in and nothing is coming to mind. This may spark a new idea?

I messed around with this last night, it's quite a challenge learning how to get a good beat assembled. I'm still doing your coursework so not an expert like yourself.

Your right! The beat making tools need a bit of an upgrade! It’s quicker to make a beat yourself 😂

I'm learning your course from Think space. I had to upgrade to 12, to follow alongside. Learned so good ways from you on using this area of the program. @@pushpatterns

These are features to drive marketing. Look, they got push patterns to do a whole video on it to advertise the DAW. Imagine some guy making boom bap hip-hop relying on knobs to play bass on the one. Anything to keep from doing work and studying music I guess
@pushpatterns29 күн бұрын
@@Kevinschart Hi Kevin. 1. These tools are not for marketing; they are designed to work in collaboration with live input to generate new ideas, unlike some AI features in DAWs that do the work for you. 2. Ableton did not hire me to make this video (although that would be nice). What DAW are you using, Kevin?

You could do both! Learn music and use these to generate new ideas and then adapt them with your theory knowledge. Have you tried them?

Talking to the computer with short cuts and key commands is arcane. The computer can react to verbal commands already but the manufacturer won’t pay the coders to do it so we stay bolted to a type writer in 2024. 😂

EASY ???? I find that these midi generation tools are completely useless and a waste of time.... It's absolutely anti-musical and it brings absolutely nothing. It's much easier to create your melody or bass line, really play it on Push or a keyboard and the same for the chords... The "rhythm" settings are absolutely not intuitive. You can remove the title "easy" These MIDI tools are the worst new feature of Live12
@pushpatterns27 күн бұрын
I agree with you. If we are comparing them in terms of speed and efficiency of workflow, they don't really speed anything up. However, that is not their purpose. They are designed to help you generate new ideas when you're stuck. We all have days when we struggle to come up with ideas, right?

Agreed. No. By the time you goof around with dials and knobs you could've just made the beat you heard in your head.
