ABS and ESP currently unavailable see owners manual S500, W221

When I turn on the ignition and start engine you hear a strange noise in transmission, like wants to turn as gears or something like that. When I start driving, the error disappears. No problems with the handling, driving, etc.
Any help is appreciated?

well two things, it could be a wheel speed sensor or the conductor plate inside the transmission needs to be replaced. However, because of the speed sensor not reading correct value, it will causes the transmission to generate conductor plate related code; many small shops would rush to the conclusion and charge you $3K to replace the conductor plate. Mercedes do not sell conductor plate to small shops, these parts are considered security part. Only authorized shops are allowed to order and must file paper work. Best thing to do is to clear the code with a Mercedes computer, drive and see if the code is back. If the code is back, read the speed value from each sensor and locate the one reading the wrong value. Replace the sensor and you should be okay! The speed sensor is a very common issue in W221 S class. However, it could also means the conductor plate is bad, because there are four speed sensors, and two more speed sensors located inside the conductor plate as an entire unit so you can't replace just the broken one.

Conductor plate changed two times but problem still exists and only in summer. I try change next speed sensors

I have the Same Problem! I repare today the TransmissionPlate. I have this Problem always, did help to change the Speed sensor??

hello I have a class s320cdi 2007 I had the abs esp light unavailable and the car tends to restrict it at 3000 rpm and as soon as I let go of the accelerator it gives small gas costs on its own. I ran it for diagnostics and changed the rear abs sensor but the car still has the same faults. What should I do ?

I had the same problem in my w221 s350 2010. All safety units are off. Heavy steering wheel. bad situation. After 7 days it disapeard all alone. It was a strong stormy night. In the morning it was gone. It seems that abs esp mallfunction causes because of statics electricity. Take out your esp fuses and put in place. Do not replace anything in your car. Just wait. Save your money.

This is an easy job, sometimes its a bigger problem but the first you thing you do its to start the engine and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and than all the way to left and do that for a while like 5- 10 times. stop the engine and start and drive the car and if the ABS- EPS sign is not showing you are done. if that did not solve the problem check the 40 amp ABS fuse and use OBM to erase the codes. if its still the same your ABS safety switches are bad, change em if still bad maybe your ABS Module is gone and that would cost you about $3.500 depending how bad cheater the MB shop is . lmao...

나와 똑같은 증상입니다. ESP. ABS 경고등. 삼각형 모형의 경고등이 나타났습니다. D.R 변속시 충격이 발생했고 시속 40KM 이상 주행이 불가능 했습니다. 이것을 고치는데 ABS 모듈 칩 수리. 스피드 휠 센서 고장으로 교체. 그리고 트렁크 매인 베터리 전압이 낮아서 모두 교체 했습니다. 고장 증상은 사라졌고 정상적으로 운행이 가능하게 됐습니다.
