Fun fact : Chris was a good athlete and valedictorian of his high school class.. he got an academic school to Vanderbilt University then went back to Kentucky University and was gonna be an engineer.. then he found out he could write songs .$$

Not only can he sing any genre, he plays instruments and writes songs, not only for himself, but other artists. We dont get many like Chris, he is a treasure, and humble on top of it...

First song: He was baked with orange juice, don'tcha know!! Second song: Yeah, that's Morgane, his wife! Chris has been in the business, for over 20 years---he started-out just writing songs, for other people (Adele, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Josh Turner ["Your Man"], Kelly Clarkson, and Brad Paisley; just, to name a few). He also sang with 2 bands---he became a solo artist around 2015, IIRC!! As always... Great reaction!!

I still say my favorite of Chris is “I Was Wrong” live at Austin City Limits. “Cold”, “Devil Always Made Me Think Twice”, “Whiskey and You”, and “Simple Song” are all some of my favorites. Also “More of You” is special to me. My husband and I danced to it at our wedding as our first dance.

He was in a bluegrass band called the steeldrivers for years before his solo career into country music check out either blue side of the mountain or can you run. if it hadn’t been for love by the steeldrivers Chris sings lead vocals. This song was eventually picked up by adele and covered

There’s a video on KZbin where Chris and his wife explain how he wrote that song. He wrote it in about 20 mins. He was definitely blessed with his ability to write great songs.
