People who dont understand Elvis or the era cant understand this excitement. Its not even the dancing by itself of the look... IT WAS THE VIBE. THE VIBE> Elvis wasthe very first musician that had a VIBE. And when you attach all his other skills, the vocals, the facial expressions, the dancing the SMOOOTHness, the SOUL. YOUNG PEOPLE went BONKERS because they wanted a voice and a music in an era that wasnt about them, it was about the SOCIAL ELITES of the day. White social elites especially. Elvis became without even trying THE YOUTH ICON of the day & time. Social change was in the air. YOUNG PEOPLE in the 50s and black people in the 60s. Elvis was a HUGE supporter of both groups when it WAS NOT POPULAR and QUITE DANGEROUS. It was the era of assasinations..

I saw this in real time, and Frank was not very happy about putting Elvis on, but his show ratings were slipping so he went along with it. When he got to know Elvis they became great and loyal friends, Elvis showcased his daughter Nancy Sinatra in one of his movie and showed her singing and dancing talent. When Elvis got married in Vegas, Frank sent his plane to transport them from Memphis to Vegas. And when Elvis died, Frank said, "I was just a singer, Elvis changed music and culture, he was a great friend, very generous and kind." Thanks for your reaction.

Nancy Sinatra had a huge crush on Elvis, but she was married in 1960. 8 years later, after Nancy`s hit "These Boots Were Made For Walking", Nancy and Elvis starred together in the movie Speedway. By then, Nancy was divorced, but because Elvis was married at that time, she behaved like a decent woman. Although Elvis showed his interest in her very clearly and flirted with her, she stayed strong. She is one of Elvis` two or three leading ladies, who didn`t sleep with him, and I respect and love her for that.

My mother was a big Sinatra fan until Elvis came along. Last year of her life I asked her: "So, who's your favorite singer, Frank Sinatra or Elvis Presley?" And she responded: "Well, Elvis of course." Frank came along first, obviously; Elvis was the idol of the youth generation. Both legends.

You should check 'My way"(Sinatra song ) by Elvis from Aloha from Hawai, Also "love me tender Las Vegas version"for more swag 😀Highly recomened is a song that was written for Elvis when the artist inspired when he was traveling to Memfis in a bus full of Elvis fans that were going to 10th death memorial day , the song is "black velvet by Alannah Myles" And last but not least, Witney Huston "I have nothing" lyrics was written by Elvis girfliend Linda Tomson after she broke up with Elvis! And a must: why Bill Burr and his wife argue about Elvis, so funny!

Someone made a great observation & comment about Sinatra: he had perfect pitch (he did); he was louder than Elvis (he was); he was "flat" (he WAS); Sinatra had a good voice but like other singers at that time, there was no emotion, they all had very good voices but performed as if they had a little shot of sedation; & then there was Elvis full of emotion & passion in every song, & that great natural raspiness & crack in his voice.

About this time, Elvis made his first movie after his stint in the Army, "G.I. Blues". His costar was dancer Juliet Prowse, Sinatra's girlfriend. Elvis & Juliet had a little fling, which could've been dangerous considering Frank's mob connections. But, as the story goes, Elvis was just too damn likable for Frank to stay mad at.👀🥰🤣 Thanks for the fun reaction. Happy that you appreciate these two absolute legends. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙 Oh, & please note Carrie's suggestion about the upcoming anniversary of Elvis's death. It's a good suggestion.💙

Funny you mention the mob and Elvis. A mobster's daughter tried to commit suicide and in her note it said she was doing it because Elvis would never love her. The mobster was understandably furious and demanded answers about this Elvis boy that had obviously been leading his daughter on. He wanted him whacked immediately and the story goes that word came down from on high that Elvis was a singer that was rocketing skyward and was not to be touched and had never had any interaction with the daughter. Apparently Elvis was good for business for the mob even if he didn't know it.
