This song is a masterpiece of composition. The melody, the different guitars, the drumming, the baseline, Robert plants voice, it's pure genius. I especially love the subtle clean electric guitar at around 3:10. It's so melodic and complements Plant's voice perfectly

Ramble On is certainly in Led Zeppelin's Top 10; maybe even their Top 5. Phenomenal song.

In 1969 when Led Zeppelin came on the music scene, they released 2 albums only 6 months apart. Virtually every song on both Albums was a hit. Referred to as Led Zeppelin I and Led Zeppelin II, they both went double Platinum. At their heart, Led Zeppelin was a Blues Band, but they did a lot more in the years that followed. One of the top 3 Bands along with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

"Just in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair, but Golum and the Evil one crept up and slipped away with her..." My absolute FAVORITE Zeppelin tune!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now it's time to react to the "Rain Song"

John Paul Jones bass work makes this song. Most under recognized musician. He’s an absolute genius and plays multiple string and keyboard instruments. Truly a remarkable musician.

Dang, son. You're on a roll today! Three in a row, three of the best to ever do it. Elvis, Zeppelin & Prince. Two of which I was privileged to see live, multiple times (Zeppelin & Elvis). And yes, Zep literally rocked every arena or stadium they played. "Ramble On" is probably my favorite Zeppelin song. Hard to pick a favorite but this one is special. Transports you to a different place & time..as Robert Plant says "in days of old when magic filled the air". He also references "The Lord of the Rings".."twas in the darkest depths of Mordor I met a girl so fair. But Gollum & the Evil One crept up & slipped away with her". If you know, you know. Thanks for doing this one. It's a beloved song for a lot of people. 💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙🌿💙

Probably the best thing about a Led Zeppelin concert was the show lasted a long time also the mix of songs from slow to fast. Saw them twice and seemed to last 2+ hours.

As for your question: It wasn't a #1 hit. It wasn't released as a single. They wanted people to buy the whole album. Definitely not a singles band. Their songs were too long for the 3 minute singles formula anyway. So, they never had a #1 hit, but sold a gigantic amount of albums.

all their songs are FIRE, brother. Their number 100 hit sounds like most bands number 1 hit... if you really want to know who they are and what they mean...try their final song together when they were in their 60's Kashmir live from Celebration Day...then start from song 1 album 1 and see what we all know

As great as "Ramble On" is, it was never released as a single. Led Zeppelin wasn't big on releasing singles. If I'm not mistaken, they only released a total of 8. Their highest charting single was "Whole Lotta Love" which peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot Hundred.

Their original drummer, John Bonham, died in 1980 and the group broke up. However, they got together one more time in 2007 for the live Celebration Day concert held in London's O2 Arena. Original members, Robert Plant (lead vocals), Jimmy Page (lead guitar), and John Paul Jones (bass and keyboards) were joined by the late John Bonham's son, Jason Bonham on drums. The whole concert is fantastic. Excellent audio, visual and performances. Even at their advanced age, they still killed it. My favorite performance of "Kashmir" is from this concert. Check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnWQfpefitJklbs It has over 150,000,000 views. Enjoy!

If I might make a suggestion, to save yourself a whole lot of jumping around, just do as the Red Queen advised: "Begin at the beginning, go all the way to the end, then stop." There's no such thing as a bad led Zeppelin track. You might as well hear the mall and see how the band progressed.
