Abuja was not designed in the 80s to have high rise buildings but that is being incorporated and a distinct business district should be created only for such skyscrapers from 20 floors and above.
@MajorrBison8 ай бұрын
Imagine a city without high rises, it will just be boring. At most medium rise would suffice.
@Ishmael426 ай бұрын
@@MajorrBison is not boring it was planned that way to restrict high rise building, because of it's administrative nature and not a commercial city, in Urban planning there is something called Zoning ordinance or laws and subdivision regulation that guides how cities are built and developed, unlike lagos that has high rise buildings because is the commercial nerve centre of Nigeria and by Extension Africa lagos is the New York of Nigeria all the commercial banks in Nigeria has its Headquarters in Lagos, all the Fintech companies has its headquarters in lagos but they Apex bank as a regulator is situated in Abuja which is Central bank of Nigeria. You need to visit Abuja and see how beautiful it looks without high skyscrapers.

Five million residents so far and counting is way more than enough for a young capital city! Way more than the population of many older capital cities in Africa, Europe and the Americas, for crying out loud! Apart from NYC with approximately 8 million residents, which by the way, is just a fraction of the population of Lagos other American cities can't boast of the population of Abuja, young as it is!
