When Stevie recorded this song he asked that the lights be turned low & he sat on a stool with his back turned to the people in the studio so he could record this from just from his soul, i suppose, no distractions as he recorded this masterpiece. Thank you SRV.

This is from Austin City Limits 1989 One night in Texas. This whole show was great from beginning to the end! This was the final piece from this historic concert. Keyboardist Reese Wynans also shined during this performance!

According to SRV Archives SRV usually used Fender medium picks, but he did have custom picks and also used freebies he picked up from guitar shops. He recorded this song on "Lenny", which he is playing here. The 1963 Fender Stratocaster was donated by Jimmie Vaughan to the Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2004 where it was put up for auction. It sold to Guitar Center for $623,500, and I believe is still on display at their Austin location. All the proceeds from the sale benefited the Crossroads Centre. And one last thing...I can listen to this song on loop all day. It's so chill.💖💖💖

Almost 1 mil so crazy, i love those medium fender picks there so good

@@Julioguadalupereacciones Just think. That 600 G was over 15 years ago. Lenny probably would sell for at least 1 Mil at auction today.

@@Julioguadalupereacciones Yeah, one of my favorite picks too. One detail is that he always played with one of the rounded "corners", from what I've read.

Think absolutely beautiful. I knew he ysed 13 guage for his big E. Yes it's Reese. Other guitar players tried and they couldn't bend it.

Reese is still playing with Joe Bonamassa. Imagine the stories he could tell.

I've never heard what picks he used, but considering his strings are 13s I would guess heavy. Ted Nugent once played one of Stevie's guitar at a show, and said he had barbed wire for strings
