Hey Lex I have a question, do Copelain Scrolls need hard starts or is it more of a efficiency thing? I had a tech come by and said that the cap was reading .06 mF on a 440/370 45/5 mF cap. He was suggesting to put in a hard start and higher cap for $185. I don't mind paying if the job is worth it but it's just that something seemed fishy about the tech that I was just like that doesn't make sense. What are your thoughts boss?

@@Mayu_Listen_to_my_Song I'm just now seeing this comment. I don't get notifications for comments that get posted on other comments. I wouldn't install a hard start unless the compressor was going bad or it came on the unit from the factory. I hope everything worked out for you!

What do you think of the rotary compressors so far? If slow leak, we’ve been using Nu Calgon large and small leak stop. The purple tube one that just hook to suction side. Have had lot of success. The old small can that required adapter hose sucked

I don't like'em. Seems like the superheat runs higher on them. When I get the subcool to around 12, the superheat hangs between 20 to 25. They all do it, too. Not sure what the chances are that all 100 or so txv's are not functioning properly but dang it worries me. 😆 Thank you so much for watching Bayou!

A lot of the problem on the property was first company as you mentioned but the biggest part of the problem was the caustic acids that was being used on the inside of the homes to clean the coils, so caustic it ate the bottoms out of the drain pans and eventually leaving hundreds of microscopic pin holes in the copper coils those were the ones that was setting off the sniffer in the breezeway, a standard first company leaker was about like the ones you’re doing

Just a heads up Goodman compressors want a about a 9 degree subcool. At least up here in the north east. I do a lot of work with Goodman and Amana systems. They also require an odd superheat. If you look online they actually sell a slide chart that you can use for R22 and R 410a systems.

Slowly moved up to a temp clamp by hilmor hooked up to my meter...just got some joblink fieldpiece wireless probes and wont look back...the only thing I would use my analogs for now is for when it's raining and I'm checking charge or adding refrigerant...the cool thing about the wireless probes is it does the target superheat without you having to run back inside every time you charge and let it stabilize to get your wet bulb and outdoor temp again lol...all automatic and right there...

Our old Carrier r-22 ACs are finally showing their age. I'll be lucky if I don't go a month without changing two coils. Recently the office coil sprung a major leak. Carrier said they don't supply that coil no more so What I did is I took it into the garage, repaired the leak, pressurized it, let it hold overnight and slapped it back in there. And having never worked on leashing office ACs I come to learn that the 2 breakers don't independently power the two air handlers. So If one breaker is off, both air handlers get half power. lol You would not believe the shit I take care of over here. By the way skid, wouldn't you risk flooding the compressor with liquid refrigerant by cranking the handle like that?

He said I should replace the whole system It's old by your video could he have topped it off with freon at least to give me time to buy and replace the unit? I did over 100 of them and the way we check for leaks. We just kinda cracked the front door and stick the little sniffer just inside of the front door and it would scream sometimes it would even go off in the breezeway before we even reach the apartment, now you say to yourself that’s a bad leak absolutely the guys before me were recharging units daily, and the very next evening the same residents would be calling. My AC is out again. They eventually restaffed the property with myself, and several others and the nightmare began owners, investors management company, all freaking out when I told them they need to set aside $2500 per unit for all 735 units that accounted clubhouses leasing offices in any condition spaces like the laundry and exercise facilities or any pool restroom areas, which was generally fed off of the exercise facility. The worst part was the big beautiful maintenance area like a 5 bay garage/shop one entire bay nearly waist deep I’m not kidding you with Freon drums over 300 of them that was purchased in less than a year and a half
