Uni can be so intense sometimes. So many subjects and so many assignments; you take a little break and you’ve fallen behind. Burnout hits you when you least expect it😕 Two months into the career that I’ve been dreaming of since I was 12 I was showing signs of burnout. It caught me by surprise and I felt so inadequate. Got the help I needed, took some time off to feel better and now I’m back at it. Now whenever I feel like I’m burning out I remember to take a step back, reevaluate my time and remind myself that a job is just a job. My mental health takes priority. And it’s been working out pretty well.

Feeling of burning out is terrible. Then when it goes into the worst, you just stop. Your mind stops working in the right way, your body refuses to work, you are tired, you feel totally pointless and NOTHING feels like anything. You lose all the joy in life. I have been there. Went on a sick leave for over two months. It is a long road to recovery. Remember to take care of yourself! And DO NOT judge yourself for not being 110% all the time! Great video on an important topic!

@@SamDCote Absolutely no problem! It is an important topic to keep up. The part about taking a break from mental health to focus on studies is a good joke, but it also is very true. And it shouldnt be.

I'm glad I found this video. I'm currently restarting my uni life (stopped for a year) and I'm already starting to get burnt out myself, thank you for being genuine!

Burn out sucks!! I had that issue in college. I would often find myself so overwhelmed. Specifically midterms and finals were really tough. I was stressed and exhausted that I felt pretty much helpless. I can’t imagine the period of going to school over zoom. I would have really really struggled with that.

Hahaha yea the zoom learning situation can be rough- mostly cause it’s harder for the professors to get a sense of their class’ energy/motivation I think. Leads to a lack of communication in my opinion

Im currently in the 2nd semester of my 3rd year, and I was taking 4 courses at the start of the semester, but had to drop one because it was a lot and it was hard for me to wrap my head around. That’s fine. The other 3 classes I got are about stuff that I’m more interested in. However, because I had a lot of energy spent, I just feel unable to do certain homework tasks for the 3 classes that I like which I’m taking right now. Good thing it’s reading week, so you could say my burn out is happening at the right time I guess 😂. Still though. Usually during the semesters I feel like I’m jeopardizing my free time when I’m using it. Like my social life, and my physical and mental health is less than it was because of the feeling of needing to march on studying and keep worrying about this stuff. Hopefully I get out of it soon though. I got a few more days to manage through the burn out and get cracking at other stuff.

Love the authenticity of this video. Amazing content as always. You’re really making an impact on people with these videos. I relate heavily to a lot of what you talk about in this. Sometimes I inflict a lot of unnecessary stress on myself in an effort to avoid inadequacy. You’re not alone. You don’t have to be going all out all the time. It’s more than ok to take time to step back and recuperate. Stay strong brotha ❤️

dude thank you so much for this. I graduated CC fall 2018. this Jan. I went back for spring, to the UCF full-online Psychology degree. Now I'm taking 1 summer class, instead of 16 wk course I have 4 wks to learn everything 🤯🤯 i literally only have 5/6 days to learn 2 whole chapters 2 HWs and a quiz every Fri. then every other wk i have an exam on the first 4 chapters. Already took Ex1; I'm halfway thru week 3 and I am cramming ch. 7-8 in my head making sure I meet the deadline on Fri. While also cramining last wk's 2 chs for the EX2 on Sun. I haven't stopped and the burnout feeling hit me like a ton of bricks, this is not my 1st summer class but fuck University is next level 😮‍💨 it's 4:07 and I haven't slept in 24hrs becz this class is a pre-rec for all my fall classes. I needed this to remind myself to walk away fuck anxiety take a breather so thanks dude. honestly if it wasn't for 💨💨 my brain would be mush never experienced burnout like this 💯🙏 now time to sleep😴

I just graduated from high school, and I feel weird. Every morning, my body gravitates towards my computer desk. I sit down and rush into my applications. Only to realize that I'm not in school anymore. Sometimes, I find myself becoming emotional over the fact that I don't have anything due. I anticipated that I'd feel this way, but I didn't realize that this change would hit me so hard. Anyone else feeling this way?

I’m not in Uni yet , I have quiet few years left until it but still I felt so burnt-out since the beginning of this school year , I have so much stuff piled up on me and I feel so overwhelmed and in a way trapped 😭😭?? Idk it’s so tiring but today I’m going to get everything done!

1. I feel worthless, guilty, lost, and hopeless. 2. I just finished my 1st year of college, and I definitely did NOT finish everything. I think my expectations of myself were too high and I crashed and burned. 3. I need to meet with a counselor/therapist to help organize my goals and intentions. Also, to sort through my feelings because I feel so lost and hopeless. 4. If I can say anything, it's that you are not alone (though it may feel like it).

I relate to this because I'm in high school and the past few weeks I've been slacking in person school because of stress and my workload is heavier causing me to burnout easier. Like I feel like a lazy person every time I try to do an assignment and then slack

I feel that-- it can definitely be tough. I'm sure you're doing the best you can-- I'd recommend letting a teacher know how you feel. Maybe they can help. Hang in there!

@@The_blonde_boi glad this helped! I'm doing alright with the workload-- I'm in finals week right now, so lots of tests and papers due. I've found that planning the whole week out in advance helps a lot!

Hi man your video is awsome, I feel tired And stressed Because I feel Like the workload is just to much. I try to catch up on sleep during the weekends, even then I m stressed thinking about that I need to wake up early to have time for working out And hanging with my gf. This my third week of exams, unlike every other college in my country that doesn’t have lectures when its exam week And their only job is to prepair for exams, my college has exams And lectures at the same time. My last exam is on 24.12 but they start again on the 5.1.2022. I have total of 7 subjects, I m good at most of them but I dont have the time to catch up with the other lectures when I m preparing for another exam. For relaxing I workout And hang out with my gf And Watch netflix with her, I love her very much but I would Like her to be more understanding of my situation. Her uni gives them 2 weeks free for exams, so she doesn’t rly understand my situation. Thanks for making this video, its great
