I know this is a slightly older video, but you once again come in clutch. I've been trying to figure out how to do a similar effect but with a set of dice and I couldn't find anything nearly as succinct and clearly explained as this video. Thank you!

I hope you could create a tutorial about how to apply decals on a 3D model, that would be very helpful! Congrats for the amazing job! Your tutorials always are so helpful!

So the texture you made in photoshop (the one with transparent background), gets plugged in both base color and transmission color? @Academic Phoenix Plus Also, I'm wanting to make a logo that looks like it's actually melted into the glass.... like MASON on a mason jar. Will this method work? Would it need a Normal map?

Hi there, Thank you for watching my videos! I think adding "mason' as a normal/bump map will definitely work for what you are looking for. Great idea! Good luck with your project. :)

@Academic Phoenix Plus When I import the UV Snapshot, it has an invisible background, making it really hard to see. How did you get the black background? thanks Also, I made the Normal map with the Mason logo.. worked! :)

Hi! The new UVSnapShot comes in transparent (now sure why it changed). What I do is create a new layer, fill it with black, and then place it behind the UVs. You should be able to see it clearer. I hope that helps! And so happy to hear the normal map worked on your Mason jar!

It's funny that you say that egapuri, that's my next tutorial! It's a bit more complex, but gives you different results. Keep an eye out!

Can't you just use a PNG file for the logo and apply it on the UV faces?

You sure can, Makcnm! There are several ways to tackle problems in Maya. Whatever works best for the artist!
