This is eye opening. I was bullied as a young boy and as a result became overly eager to fight anyone I thought was testing me as a 9-11 year old. I moved and shut that part of me off, and to this day, as an adult, I don't know how to stand up for myself in some situations for fear of what would happen if I turned that switch back on. I know there is a happy medium, and I seek to understand how to get there.

Really learn some patience. Having custody of my two kids has taught me more than anything else. Maybe try telling people firmly with eye contact that you will not tolerate whatever the issue is. I give co workers warnings until they step over my boundaries and I have to shut it down. Violence is stupid and should never be in the workplace, school and home. It’s been a year since you left the comment so I think it’s good to write down what has changed for the better. It’s going to be smooth sailing my friend.

Learn to assume good or neutral intentions in others despite evidence to the contrary, or that even their bad intentions are merely a part of their life's learning process (good faith). Learn not to value their opinion beyond how it actually directly affects your life. Learn that it takes more strength and discipline NOT to crush someone who crosses you when you have the ability to, so long as it is not truly necessary to do so. And for goodness sakes, make sure you are actually capable of doing the crushing, even if the time to use it never comes.

I love how all concepts tie up to THE master concept itself... It's all about loving yourself, guys. Loving even your concealed and once rejected parts by parents, peers and society. Also the concept of projection is really powerful here, that's how I discovered my own personal shadows. This made sense on why sometimes we despise people that burst out in rage, that cry uncontrollably, that are selfish, speak up, that are creative, witty, spontaneous, lazy or manipulative... because maybe we see our shadows reflected in them, otherwise why should we care?

Heavily agree. Based on my own experience of long journey to myself. Love unfolds everything, including the dark side. Love is the life juice, on which personality grows to fullfilment and integration. Because the foundation of love is just allowing whatever to BE. When you allow yourself to be, or in other words to be yourself, the boundaries of You appear. And by loving yourself, you're motivated to defend those boundaries from the place of self-care. And here agression comes to place. The initial point of agression is not to harm others (althrough its possible if necessary), but to take care about yourself and your bondaries. And just doing what you want in life. Which means to be free.

*Once upon a time* A lion was very much in love with a Woodman's daughter. The fair maid referred him to her father and the lion applied for the girl. The father replied "Your teeth are too long." So the lion went to a dentist and had them extracted. Returning, he asked for his bride. "No," said the Woodman, "your claws are too long." Going back to the dentist, he had them drawn. Then he returned to claim his bride, and the Woodman, seeing that he was unarmed, bashed his skull in.

The reason for exploring your shadow is to recognise your own evil and gain greater control of yourself so you can keep that evil in your shadow and not unconsciously let it possess you
@antikertech157
@antikertech157 2 жыл бұрын
I see the shadow as a repressed part of your true self by the dualistic concepts of "good" and "evil" from a sick society. This makes balanced people to hate a part of themselves, hiding it in the unconscious for a time. Rising above the dualistic good and evil consciousness allows for self-realization with great inner peace, bliss and a desire to rise ALL Life without attachments to any reactions or expectation. After this self-realization, anyone can say "the devil cometh and found nothing in me".
@stevethedreamerofdreams6444

@@antikertech157 If you are conscious of what's in your shadow it is still your shadow. It's not necessarily due to a society being sick that you refrain from killing your father or sleeping with your best friend's wife. These things belong in the shadow and it's a good thing if you value civil behaviour. It's the things we could do but are repressed. The only issue is whether you lie to yourself about these impulses/fantasies - if you deny their existance within yourself they may unconsciously influence your behaviour in unexpected ways.

i trully think the purpose is to get rid of the shadow forever, some were born evil and prideful like me but with time started to learn the good way and changed completely, while some are born good and slowly started to become corrupt, like a fallen angel. It's better to be a demon change into an angel rather than an angel turn into demon, because that angel became a demon in his/her own choice. while the demon becomes good in his or her own choice, thus fulfilling God's free will that he gave us to choose dark or light.

One of my key indicators / traits is that I’m a leader and its manifested in various parts of my life. Despite the scrutiny and responsibility it entails I’ve learned to embody it. I realized later on that any leader worth their salt is terrifying. Thinking about the tasks of a leader and the necessary skillset, harvesting good thoughts - suppressing bad ones. Fostering growth - Crushing competitors. Building team morale - demoralizing the competitor. At its core a good leader is simply an enemy you’re blessed to have on your side.

It's pitiful for us, human beings, to repress our instincts, and still believing we'll be better individuals by practicing compassion and mercy as well. I think the main task we must do is to aspire to become whom we truly are. A simple step to begin so is to admit our Shadow's existence. Then, may anyone find their best way to join their Light-Darkness within. Nietzsche was right when he wrote "The Man is something that must be overcome"

I've been doing this work for a few years. The easiest and most effective way towards identification and integration: Think about one person you dislike/hate/that made you angry. What is it about them that makes you feel that way? That's all you, that's your shadow, those are the parts of you you need to accept. :D

What/who makes me angry is my meth addicted neighbor, who lives with his mother she’s frail, 90 pounds, 80 years old, and he forced her to survive on fruit by loops and peanut butter, her room has gaping holes in the rotting floor, he stays in the shed behind her delaminated house smoking meth all night, he beats his poor dogs every single day, keeps them in chains, it’s astounding they are alive, multiple other reasons I could stare as to why I really really cannot stand his existence. I am genuinely curious, how it is that he is me, or is a part of me? Please let me know what you think. Thanks very much.
@MultiKlika

@@turkishdewdrop Excellent example! A lot of work can be done here. First of all, I would try to understand him and define him. Undemonise him and ask yourself: How does a man become like this? What would take me to become like this? More often than not, people use substances to regulate the feelings they can not deal with. I, for example, know that I can cover up my sadness with agresion very often. It's much more comfortable for me to be mad than to be sad. I do it with a feeling of inadequacy and shame, also. So, he can not deal with something... So, let's say, sadnesses took him to be addicted, shame made him spiraling deeper. In the beginning, he probably felt some kind of guilt, now he feels nothing (or maybe he feels much, we can not know). We don't know what happened to him. The most interesting part here are subjects of his abuse: mother and dogs. Both symbols of unconditional love. He clearly never received unconditional love and thinks he does not deserve it. He makes sure of it. Extremely, he punishes the beings that can feel that way towards him. Also, he made sure he's hated... hence, you know about the abuse that's going on. He doesn't try to hide it. All in all, he's unlovable and he makes sure he stays that way. You can go much deeper with the analysis since you can observe the situation directly. Now comes the fun part. Where are you him? What do you have in common? When was the last time you behave badly towards someone that did not deserve it? Were you disregarding their feelings? (It can be just a moment or one event). Were you a bit sadistic towards your partner, a friend, your mother? Feel that shame. What are you addicted to? Is it a common thing: food, alcohol, drug? Is it a relationship? A friendship? Fear? Safety... maybe you don't take enough risks? Where are you going in circles with the things that just don't do you any good? Do you think that some parts of you are unlovable and unacceptable? Why? Is it sadness, agresion, envy, jealousy? How did you punish people who accepted those? Where are your "holes in the floor"? Where do you feel unsafe? When's the last time you did something to make someone else feel unsafe? Are you striving or just surviving on the "fruit loops"? Do you, in fear, keep someone in state of survival and feel you don't give enough? And so on... Now try and have compassion for the neighbor. He's just a fragile human went wrong somewhere along his way. (Extremely hard, I know. 😅) This would be my approach in this case. Please let me know if this makes any sense to you. 😁

The 3 type of people I really hate/can't stand are: 1_people who try to overule or cause harm to everyone and just CAN'T leave people alone. Live your life in your space like everyone else! Who said you had that power? I'm the type of person to mind my own business and I believe in freedom for everyone. Just do whatever as long as you're happy and not harming anyone. Which is why I hate these guys. 2_People who overcritîcize and have too high expectations I get it, we need criticism to be better. But there is a balance in everything. And some people just lay it to thick. And come on, leave people room to be humans, yeah? 3_people who just don't make sense and contradict themselves. Say something then the opposite. And alternate between the 2 super fast like 2 minutes (or less). And do it all the time, everyday. It's exausting. Conbine them with the critical type and they're the worst to be with.

Once I can sit with it, then the adult I am now can see it and I quickly come up with a better solution to the external frustration that triggers this dynamic. I imagine if Qui-Gon was alive and training Anakin, this lesson would be something he would teach. He saw the potential for the Dark Side in Anakin, but he believed that it was important for him to have in order to bring balance to the Force. In fact, I believe that a good amount of the conversations Anakin had with Palpatine were ones that he could've had with Qui-Gon. Anakin was always an instinctual Jedi and Qui-Gon knew this more than anyone. Throughout the Clone Wars TV Show and in Episode 3, Anakin was shown to have an instinctual side to himself in many aspects. In his combat piloting, his lightsaber combat, all that he was had an instinctual side to it. If Qui-Gon were alive, he might have had Anakin follow his instincts more, even those that may have bordered on the Dark Side. The Dark Side was where most of his potential resided. Going unchecked like it did only made things worse for the Jedi and the galaxy.

KT Hi KT! Allow me to offer these thoughts for your consideration as pertaining to the mystery of the human creature and it’s conscious desires. #1. We all want the same thing... soundness of mind. One that is not moved by the whims of men or the eventualities of life. #2. Our minds and bodies are not designed to absorb the effects of condemnation...on any level. Given those “facts” I have found that only malice aforethought can disrupt the process of attaining the powerful attributes that both these truths offer. Both offer a profound awareness not only of self, but of all others around us. I can’t begin to describe the freedom that this practice has afforded me. Perhaps this baseline..if acceptable..will add value to your life and the people around you.

Ant Tam Perhaps this will help. There are exactly two truths that apply to every person on the planet. #1. We all desire soundness of mind. One that is not moved by the whims of men or the eventualities of life. #2. Our minds and bodies are not designed to absorb the effects of condemnation...on any level. Given that...there is only one thing that has the power to disqualify both endeavors...malice aforethought, or in this case, the shadow. The process isn’t complicated, but the discipline of it requires a type of embracing of weakness which in the end strips one of condemnation and accusation. Not easy...but it can be done. This vid made it too complicated because it failed to establish a baseline of agreement. Without that, there is no way to start the dialogue.

I can’t honestly say that this understanding has practical applications. It’s more of a realization...an exposure of weakness brought on by desires. This discipline shouldn’t lead us into a defensive posture but rather an acceptance of self and eventually others based on those realizations. I simply call it...”I see me...I see you”. Some refer to it as loving your neighbor as yourself.

@@97alexk Well, I'm not an expert, but I imagine that the process of individuation will involve mistakes and will be a continual process. In that sense, I think questioning whether you are being too aggressive, for example, is a constant judgement call, and even varies considerably based on the person, and the situation. Maybe I'm too pessimistic, but I imagine that the feeling of wholeness would be rather fleeting. I mean, we may become more assertive and authentic for example, at which our perspective shifts from who we used to be, and what once seemed like progress, just becomes the new normal, despite us feeling more grounded overall. Does that make any sense? It's like when we develop in a new skill, we can't always appreciate how much we've learned, because we can't remember how clueless we were. Just my opinion. I suppose being more grounded gives us more a sense of security, and therefore less self critical and prone to rumination.

@@97alexk I guess everyone has different motivations. For me, I'm not so much concerned with how dark things are, but certainly I've realised I'm very goal driven, and a perfectionist. I'd rather find an authenticity in how I think and behave, so that I'm perhaps more comfortable with my decisions, yet equally less controlled by them, and not ruminating on the past. I think that might constitute my version of wholeness more so than the idea of untapped potential or power. Einzelganger did a video collaboration with The Diamond Net about integration. I haven't watched any of The Diamond Net's videos yet, so I can't claim to know if they are what you're looking for, and as I said I'm certainly no expert, just putting together the little knowledge I have from this channel and a couple of others with my own idea of what wholeness might be like for me. I don't know - I don't want to try telling you what to do, and I can understand your curiosity about 'how deep things go', but I think, personally, I would be cautious about taking that approach, or certainly take it at a steady pace. I think one approach from the Einzelganger video seems to be slowly subtracting the barriers we have built up, rather than trying to "add" repressed aspects back, if that makes sense. A kind of subtraction rather than addition.

The feminine side felt free, like liking go of concepts and stirred the imagination. A free moment for the spirit to shift basically and to connect to another part of us. I am guy lol I am still me I think even better. Feminine energy rocks, it helps me relax and achieve Zen easier. It lets me let go of things, like which might anger me or other bad embodied egos. The masculine is still their, just less doubtful and dense and limited and more free spirited and light . When I channel focus my awareness on this feminine feeling in a awoken state. Which feels the same as lucid dreaming or altered states. I see the shift I feel it, my imagination becomes stronger in the present moment.

This is by far one of the most amazing videos I've ever encountered. It hit me so hard due to the integration of ones shadow being a process I myself have undertaken and this video could not be more correct in its teachings. This should be shared with anyone who desires to become enlightened with ones true self.

I think an introspective mind combined with natural curiosity and admiration of the natural world, over time can perhaps integrate our shadow, given time. Some call it wisdom. Truly, an unexamined life is not worth living.

I always hated "group think" ever since I was a child. Always did things my own way often contrary to the mainstream. Most people lack the imagination and the will to stand out.

@Dani there is a ton of symbolism in Naruto. He literally had to face his shadow self in the show to learn how to fully control Kurama.

You, sir, really hit the nail on the head. I have been finding what was wrong with everything around me, but with you saying that, no wonder negotiations are never-ceasing. I've come to accept what made my Shadow, and what can be used to make myself better. I encourage others to face themselves, and seek to be better with what they can become. Its tiring, but so worth it. As well to add to your video; At what point does self-hate kick in the door and demand your refinement?

This video explained perfectly on what i was doing for years with myself, trying to know myself and being one with my shadow self and use it for the good and higher purpose. I have lost my will to my meanings but today after a few videos i found that perfectly described what i am going through and trying to achieve. I have regained myself and will continue to live. Thank you for this video!

I think it is a one with our creator,I know I love the world the same as anyone and we are told to live a certain way and live perfect but are in obedience to people who don't live by it, some people are either one side of the coin or the other, maybe just accept that it's the way god created me and find that balance, stuck in the middle with you! So what does any of it mean to be here and either have one side or the other the balance of good and bad apart from its your story in life learning along the way, new experiences, trying to make your dreams a reality and saying thanks to God combine your search with the Bible and see what you find good luck leprechauns

I have always admired your channel. Yet, now in the darkest days of my life, when I am surrounded by Yin. You and your videos seem to be released at times and with topics, which seem to speak directly to me with the calming reassurance of a wise father. Guiding me to the Yang, or in my case, Venus the morning star. Thanks for the great work, I am excited to hear more from you.

Whilst practicing Buddhist insight meditation and mindfulness, i noticed the blackness of the ego self, the petty wants or desires beginning to dissolve or empty out. There is an expansive quality to all of this, that naturally increases compassion and frees the individual from incessant navel gazing. Our attachment and self indulging is at the core of this. Ultimately being content as we are in the present, makes the so called shadow self much less of a problem
