I agree with the comment below! I am a single Catholic gal and I use Dave Ramsey too! I paid off college, my car and now own my own little cottage! Its good to know where every single dollar is going & envelope systems work so well! I am debt free too! I saw it as a gift to any man I meet too! thank you Heather for a great channel! My Mom and I watch you together!

I'm from North Carolina as well! Do you like the state? I didn't think much of it until I was about 14 years old, there are a lot of lovely characteristic things about it, the deciduous pine forests, the mountains, the beaches, I've also met a lot of polite people here, I think it's a pretty great state to live in.

I have 3 bank accounts. One is for bills and every day expenses. One is for emergencies and savings. Luckily I have enough money in the first account for most emergencies. The last account is for vacations/fun activities. This works really well for me. I can enjoy life but my bills are all paid off and I save money in the process.

Pray the Holy Rosary. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Using the cash envelope system has been a great addition to our marriage and family. Shelling out four $100 bills at the grocery store is emotional. It really makes me find ways to save.

I’m just starting my journey to become debt free, I’ve conservatively estimated it will take me around 5 years (hopefully sooner) and I’m actually so excited to make that first big payment and just attack this debt! The fact that I can pay off my credit cards by August is amazing to me, they’ve been maxed for so long. So excited! Best part is that I was looking for cars because I wanted a new one, and I stumbled across a Dave Ramsey video ... now I’ve completely switched gears. Congratulations on your success! Hopefully in the next few years I’ll be there as well!

Dave Ramsey is amazing! His methods are helping us pay off debt currently! Love hearing you talk about spending conservatively and shopping sales! I also use coupons when I grocery shop! Helps save a decent chunk of money! You’ve inspired me to reevaluate our finances to ensure we are tithing an appropriate amount!

I am a single mom with one daughter that got married and a son in college. I paid off 2 cars, and a credit card. . The next goal is to pay off my house in 5 yrs. I am 40 but I know I can do it. My son and I work as a team to pay off debt. I am a school teacher in Texas, but what has worked with me is God. Being a single mom going to college and working was not easy, but with God’s help everything is possible.

Where I'm from in Canada the Catholic school system is run the same as public in which we decide where we want our taxes to go, if we decide to have the government send it to the Catholic board then we send our kids to the Catholic school in our neighbourhood. Most cities have a catholic school within walking distance of the public school and most times sharing the same yard and even in some cases they are only separated by a city leisure centre so they can have full use of the pool, gym etc.

No CC is Dave's thing and for people who are disiplined, it's fine. I'd rather someone hacked Am Express (which happened) than my debit (which happened) and it's so much easier to fix and I don't see "my money" gone. I had 300.00 about to use for gifts this year I didn't save. I realize though for many the temptation to make them get very high is there and Dave knows that too.

This is good stuff Heather! Super amazing about paying cash for the van. We are blessed to be debt free as well but feel like we need to learn more about retirement and investing- besides what Marcus is doing through the city. Maybe you should make your husband do a video on that! Like where to start, haha!

Great video! I've tried the cash only thing. I didnt like it because I still had my credit card and could use it but also because like when I get gas I really hate going inside to pay because if i overpay then i have to go back in again but if i underpay then i have to stop more frequently. I do like to use my credit card to get cash back but sometimes I'm not the best at paying it back right away. We have gotten a lot better as a couple but have a ways to go. The one thing we dont do is give ourselves fun money. I mean we usually go get fast food 2 times a month but that's about it. I do think it's important to have fun too. Also we never vacation. He does take time off but we dont go anywhere. I also want to own our dream home one day. Sometimes it seems far fetched but God is in charge so I'll do my best to do my part.

I so wanna be debt free!! I'm tired of renting, even if it's a shack I wanna own a house of my own and not have a mortgage or big monthly payments. Hubby has credit cards and I have medical debt and student loans, but if I could change my housing situation that would help a LOT.

In my relationship we struggle with money most months , but manage to be debit free. We now need to start saving. We, however, don't pay the 10%. We talked about it but couldn't do without really putting ourselves in a bad situation. Hopefully that will change in the future. Btw, is your husband in the military?

You talked about 10% to church or charity immediately. Is this after tax or before? And when you save the 15% does this go from the original paycheck or from the amount left after giving away 10%?
@ntmn84442 жыл бұрын
You can do 10% after tax, but if your job has it where you can make pre tax contributions to charity or your church then you can set it up that way.
